Albany County Veterinary Hospital is located in Albany, New York, in the town of Guilderland, right across the street from Stuyvesant Plaza. ACVH was founded in 1922 as a mixed large and small animal practice by John J. Wermuth, a Cornell University veterinarian. Dr. Dries then "passed the torch" to Dr. Virginia Jarvis in August of 2006.
Our friendly, courteous healthcare team seeks to provide the best quality medical, surgical and dental care for the pets of Albany and Schenectady County and the Capital District Area. Our patients include not only dogs and cats, but rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, other small mammals and reptiles. We treat every pet as if it were our own.

Thank you so much for taking care of my little girl Luna. Jet and Luna were playing and it got too rough where Jet punctured her paw. The vets took care of our cat immediately and did a great job. Very caring and professional. I used to go to Central vets but they got too big and expensive and quality went down.

Our new 4 month old kitten Mitzvah "fell in love with" Dr Sherwood, Kirsten, Carolyn , Cindy and anyone else whom he met. We know why...Each one is so caring, patient with us, enthusiastic and very very knowledgeable. Even before we adopted Mitzvah we communicated with Kirsten and she was so helpful. We have actually been going to the practices here for many many years with other pets when the former Doctors established it. And the reputation is always the same....excellent, attentive, immaculate surroundings, perfect advice, time is given to communicating. and answering all questions and I ask

These last 24 hours have been so incredibly taxing on Matthew, the Pup and I.
After the emergency vet last night, little to no sleep Bc how could you sleep knowing your fur baby is hurting.
Today we thought we had to make a really tough decision, a decision I did not want to make nor Matthew.
I need to make a shout out to this veterinarian office… we went to today! Not only did they get us in when our vet wouldn’t even budge to get her in.
Because we were worried sick, but they also made us feel like we were part of the family they were attentive, caring and some of the most compassionate
