La Dolce Vita Pizzeria was built on the belief that pizza should be special, and we carry that belief into everything we do. La Dolce Vita Pizzeria opened December of 2001 at its' original location in Sanford's Old Town Hall when owner, Renee Fincher returned from a 10 year stint in Alaska. Fincher worked with the cruise lines several years before purchasing an existing pizzeria on the Juneau waterfront.
The authentic Italian pizza dough and sauce are still made in house daily. In May of 2017, Fincher made an agreement with the City of Sanford to purchase the Federal Building at 226 Carthage Street as part of an Economic Development project aimed at reusing an existing vacant building and creating/preserving jobs within the community.

Services
Fresh mixed greens, pulled chicken, mushrooms, green onions, and, almond slivers tossed in Thai peanut dressing. Fresh mixed greens, mushrooms, onions, roasted red peppers, artichoke hearts, Greek olives and feta cheese. In keeping with the tradition of authentic Italian pizzas, our dough is made fresh and hand tossed daily.

It's sad that in Sanford, a review is first started with...For the Sanford area its..
So, for Sanford, I'd give it a 4. Overall I'd give it a 3. The 4 is for great flavor. The 3 is in comparison to what I've had before and for being overily skimpy with the sauce, etc...especially on a Margherita pizza where the true flavor comes from the sauce,garlic, fresh mozzarella (which is way overcooked) and the basil. I wanted to love this place and champion it; however, there are a few tweaks needed. The crust is a thin chrunchy crust. The pizza we recently had was lacking in sauce

La Dolce Vita did not disappoint. My first time in the spacious new Uptown facility up the street from the copper dome former location. Very pleasant atmosphere, friendly helpful and knowledgeable staff made our visit a delight. Food and drinks were brought out quickly, and everything was delicious! Portions were generous, items were carefully seasoned, and everything came out to us at a proper temperature. Already looking forward to another visit, and glad we had leftovers for next days lunch! 😋

I been coming here for years even when they had the other restaurant. The food is so good! I always see this friendly waitress, Haley working there. She’s the best waitress I ever had. Every time I see her she makes me and my family feel so welcome. She always make sure if we need anything and even when it gets really busy there she always stays on top of our order for it can be delivered on time. She’s the sweetest waitress there and I hope the owner can recognize her for her hard work. I will tell everyone I know to come here because of the great food and staff.

Stopped on a Saturday for a late dinner and food was prepared fresh and hot. The sandwiches were definitely the highlight! Had an Oscar and a Chicken BLT- served hot on crisp focaccia bread, very fresh! Beware they're large...a half would have been enough for a quick meal. The red sauce was the best- light fresh tomato flavor lots of fresh garlic and touch of basil. Would love to try it over pasta! However, my daughter's chicken broccoli Alfredo was slight disappointment. Not fresh broccoli but frozen mixed vegetables - it had peppers, carrots and peas which was unusual. Sauce flavor

Are you serious, l placed a to go order. I placed at the restaurant and noted to the order taker that the last order (2 weeks ago) was sub par in that l had paid for TWO extra toppings and one was EXTRA cheese. I showed a picture of the pizza last time with virtually no cheese, she said sorry...and tonight she gives me the chance to inspect the pizza and guess what barely had any cheese on the pizza (lIke a 1/4 cup on a gluten free)...three employees looked at it and it went back to be added and back in the oven! 45 minutes for a pizza and salad...why would she not have offered to comp the pizza

Had to wait an hour for a table even though most of the time while I was waiting plenty of tables were available. I didn't get seated till I said something. Also what kind of Italian restaurant doesn't serve calzones or Stromboli's? Then why have calzones on the menu if I can't order it. The menu stated "calzones are available after3pm. I was there at 7:30pm. And to top it all off the pizza felt like I was just eating bread. It barely had any cheese or toppings.

Wait staff is very friendly and cheerful. A quiet cozy place to eat, has both indoor and out door seating, and a bar. Italian food and pizzas. A nice selection of wines and craft beers if that's more your flavor. If you like Italian and want a laid back dinning experience and really good food it's a must try. La Dolce Vita - lThe Sweet Life

I had a large Thai Chicken Salad. The salad was indeed large and arrived quickly with plenty of chicken. The Thai peanut sauce was well done and had a little spice to it. The salad came with two slices of Focaccia bread that is made on site. The Focaccia bread was warm when it was brought out. In fact it was so good I ordered a to go round of it.

We found this place by doing a Google search of restaurants when we were visiting the area. And, now... I want to move here! Excellent service, thank you Brittany! Incredible hand tossed specialty pizza, ohhh...and, the gelato! Try the red velvet, for sure.

Okay so I have been pass this restaurant a thousand times and didn't even know it!!! Let me tell you they have been in business over 15 years! It in a historic building that used to be in a post office and let me tell you she did amazing job decor classic and simple. When you walk in you come right in to the ice cream parlor which is so nice ! Didn't get a chance to order any but I will be back ! I got greater right away buy the awesome young lady Tabitha and she told me all the history the restaurant and what they are known for ! Talking about superb service ! She suggested that I try

The service and food quality is definitely 5 stars for a local, not stuffy setting, portions were right without being too little or too much, and atmosphere was comfortable. The staff however was over the top! Payton seemed to have a six sense as to when to check in with us and what we needed. Have us great feedback on questions and ensured our dinning was pleasurable!! Would recommend this eatery and Will request Payton next time we are here!! Enjoy y'all!!

The margherita pizza leaves so much to be desired! The mozzarella is sooo thin, minimal sauce, and tomatoes that taste as if they may have been previously frozen. Also, this may just be my thing, but why would you put chopped basil on before it goes in the oven, it cause it to comes out super crispy. Meatballs were pretty good though, they were best part of the meal. Service was also pretty good.
I know this is Sanford so I shouldn't expect a whole lot with pizza, but they could do better.

I'm so happy to be able to put a fantastic review! We had an issue last time we tried to eat lunch there, but today they more than made up for it. Our server Tabitha was outstanding, the food was so delicious, and we even saved room for yummy Gelato.

We were in town for my friends wedding and we ate here. I tried the strawberry wine. It was ok but too aerated. We had the cheese pizza, Margherita pizza, the chicken Alfredo pizza, Thai chicken pizza, Alfredo, meatballs in marinara, calzone, cup of broccoli cheddar, and the gelato.
