David has been my massage therapist for several years. I've had many therapists over the years but nobody as gifted and talented as David. He is truly a "healer" -- in every sense of the word! The best therapeutic massage -- hands down! So grateful to have found David. I am a dancer, so my calves, IT band, and glutes are always hurting.
The purpose of the Founder (in my words) is to activate and develop awareness of the posterior muscle groups, your "back" muscles. Described in this video as "the posterior chain". Watch this video several times to get proper form. Think TALL, especially through the mid- and upper-chest. The position of feet (and weight distribution), the knees, chest, arms, shoulders, head and neck.all are important.
A little knowledge and 5 minutes of focused, self-care could go a long way toward easing bunion pain and help to straighten that big toe. Massage your ADductor Hallucis, (Fig 1). This muscle (muscle group) pulls the big toe toward your second toe when it contracts (shortens), and for people with bunions, this muscle is perpetually "short".
A Neuromuscular Therapist defines and discusses thoracic kyphosis, with;ots of great information on anatomy and physiological effects. This video is fantastic, a great discussion for the first-timer. Thoracic Spine 101 (if you wish). The video also demonstrates the most basic therapeutic posture for the first-timer, how to decompress the spine.

Educated and Knows How to Listen to the Body.
It's a rare day when I find a masseuse who actually knows what they are doing. David is one of those. He knows how to listen to the body and where to focus to elevate pain and tension.
I was in a car accident that upset my neck, back, and lower body. David did an amazing job applying the right tension, stretches, and trigger points. It's obvious that he has been doing this for a very long time. He has a gift for listening and healing the body. What a difference he made!

David is ah-mazing! I'm very particular when it comes to massage therapists bc I have chronic back and neck issues from a car accident years ago. David is the only therapist I've found who understands muscle physiology and the body to address the root cause of the pain. Highly recommend him!

David Sherwin is a mastermind at his craft. I have been in and out of therapy, acupuncture and more for all my back and neck problems for the last twenty years. I've never met anyone who had such a deep understanding for how the body works and reacts to different issues. Every time I've been in to see him he's extremely caring and puts a lot of thought into what your ailment is and how to treat it specifically. Recently I've had two pinched nerves that he healed very quickly. It is so incredible to have someone that can cure you of your most intense pain in the most enjoyable way. I swear by him

I moved back to the area two years ago and it took me a year to find an actual massage therapist who understood and knew how to execute the therapeutic element of a massage. In addition to very high standards, I have chronic neck and back pain and I needed a therapist who knew how to work on those areas to help correct the issues, not just alleviate them for an hour at a time. David is a true professional at his craft and he genuinely cares about your well being. He and his office are warm and welcoming - I look forward to going back every time! The best compliment you can give is a referral, so

Raced at the St. Patrick's Day Crit hosted by Velo Allegro and got a 30 minute post race massage. Loosened me up and flush my legs out! I'd become a regular but I live way too far away. If I ride in the area I'll definitely see if I can schedule something.

I am a fitness instructor and personal trainer. I consider myself an all 'round endurance athlete and massages are my salvation in a life of constant physical activity. After weeding through many, many good and not so good massage therapists-I can honestly say that David is the best masseuse I have ever had!! He knows the body and he knows the athlete body! His office space is warm, clean and comforting. Never a bad massage, never the same massage...he always address the different muscle issues I may have in each session. David is Magic!
