Nick's Auto Repair was not always the way it is today. As a matter of fact, it started as a Mobile Gas Station. The founder of that gas station was Elden "Nick" Nickerson. There were three gas pumps and three bays to work in. Later it was turned into a Sinclair Gasoline Station. From 1977 to 1988 the station did a multitude of work.
Our auto repair shop is conveniently located in Boulder, CO. Our quality ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certified mechanics at Nick's Auto Repair employ today's latest automotive technology and are equipped to handle all major and minor auto repair services on foreign and domestic vehicles. Experts recommend changing the oil and oil filter in your vehicle every 3 months or 3,000 miles, which ever is first.
Brakes are pretty much the most important safety device on your car. If you've ever partially lost your brakes in the past, you'll agree that it's not something you want to experience again. Inspecting your brakes twice a year for wear and damage can protect you and your passengers. Additionally, it will also help save you money by catching any damage before it becomes too costly.
Most people ignore their tires, yet tires are undoubtedly a critical safety component on a vehicle. Where the rubber meets the road affects traction, handling, steering, stability and braking. Because of this, a sudden tire failure can have serious consequences, especially if it occurs when operating at high speeds.
Think of it this way: Research indicates that the average vehicle is driven about 12,000 miles per year. A car with a toe angle misadjustment of 0.34 degrees (only 0.17 inches) out of specification will drag the tires sideways for more than 68 miles by the end of the year! Follow the vehicle manufacturer's recommendation noted in your owner's manual.

The familiar and professional experience one enjoys at Nick’s Auto Repair, a long-standing pillar of the Boulder community for generations, reminds me of the potential within us all to be good to one another.
Each time I visit Nick's, I am met with courtesy, patience and respect. I say that because whenever I interact with anyone on their team, I’m treated like my priorities are theirs. And believe you me, my automotive needs have required me to have several of those interactions over this past year.
They are accommodating to my schedule, always prepared for me, ready with what I need and

I returned a U-Haul at this location. The U-Haul was attached to an auto transport. I was rudely instructed to leave both, connected, in the lot. They claim the truck was returned on time, but I was charged because the auto transport was "late". The auto transport was connected directly to the truck. Further, my vehicle can't tow. I couldn't even bring the auto transport separately if I wanted. Nick's auto is still trying to dispute the charge.
If you want to wait around 10 minutes looking for an employee, this is the place to go. If you want employees to treat you poorly and not even give eye

I do not know who dropped the ball on this, but I am blaming poor management. Rented a Uhaul from this location for pick up on a Sunday. Nicks did not set up the reservation for pick up when closed nor did they call/message to say there would be a problem with the reservation. I never received any combo code to pick up the truck from nicks. After being on hold with uhaul customer service I was told there was nothing they could do to assist

The shop diagnosed my cracked radiator on my Saab 9-2X and replaced it all in less than a day! Everyone I talked to was super friendly and they didn't try to up-sell me on anything. The price was fair and on par with other independent shops but a whole lot cheaper than the dealer. I have no complaints on my experience and I'm definitely coming back

Been going to Nick's for a number of years. My cars are two 17-year-olds, a 2004 Honda Civic and a 2004 Toyota Tacoma. Dennis (Nickerson) is a competent, experienced, and empathetic mechanic that understands the situations of less-than-wealthy customers who are on a budget and need to keep old cars running. He does not try to push unnecessary work on to his customers, nor replace things and do repairs mindlessly to maximize his own income. Also, I know that he runs a alcohol-monitoring blower service for people who have DMV monitoring for DUI and DWI infractions. He and his daughter Jennifer treat

I had my interlock here and was so happy that I used them. Despite not loving the situation I was in, the staff made me feel comfortable, were always a pleasure to talk to, and made the entire process seamless. While I hope to never have to use Interlock again, these are the folks I'd recommend anyone use.

Found out about Nick's on Fairview, through word-of-mouth. So very grateful my ears were open :-) He has been a mechanic for many years. Is flexible. Prices are reasonable. And he goes above and beyond. Though, he may not be able to do all the jobs he used to do.
Because of his kindness and compassion, he deserves more than five stars. I would recommend using Nick.

Nick’s is the definition of a local shop with people who care. Nick (? Haven’t caught his name but we’ll assume that’s who the older gentleman is) is one of the most helpful and generous guys I’ve ever met. I have taken my older vehicle here numerous times for a ton of different problems and they always do fast and quality work for a fair price. But it doesn’t end there.
I was moving out of my apartment today and needed dollies to facilitate that move. I drove all over town and literally every single rental was taken for the day, I was hosed. I came to Nick and he rolled out two of
