The mission of Contemporary Nutrition is to improve the health of our community using Medical Nutrition Therapy through education, counseling, and workshops.

Jaime Lynn Lewis RDN, LDN is a Registered Dietitian and a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and completed her Dietetic Internship at East Carolina University. She has a diverse background working at ECU School of Medicine in a Family Practice, has worked at Carteret General Hospital in both inpatient clinical and outpatient settings, and as a consultant.
An Indirect Calorimeter measures your energy expenditure (the calories that your body burns at rest) by measuring the amount of oxygen you breathe in and the amount of oxygen and carbon dioxide your body releases. This equipment uses the amount of oxygen uptake to calculate the caloric burn rate of your body.
We are in-network providers with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, Coventry Wellpath, Medcost, and Medicare. Although we are in-network, this is not a guarantee of benefits. Each policy varies. Our team will make every effort to verify your insurance coverage as courtesy to our patients and will inform you of your covered benefits that your insurer reports to us prior to your initial consult.
