Do NOT build with Buckeye! The basement of my brand new house flooded. The picture on this review shows there was concrete in the PVC pipe. The concrete prevented water from getting into my sump crock. Water was coming up through my basement floor. Buckeye admitted their fault by cleaning out the concrete. Yet they would not reimburse me for the $1,000 insurance claim and $420 more to the Restoration Company. Mike White is the owner and hung up on me. Not professional at all. Why would Buckeye clean out the concrete blocking my sump crock if it wasn’t their fault?

Do yourself a favor if your building or purchasing a new construction home - avoid buckeye builders. Your “one year warranty” doesn’t mean a dang thing. They never respond in their Warranty Portal, close out issues that don’t get resolved, and if an issue starts within the warranty and still continues outside of then warranty (because of their… inability to reply), they’ll close out the requests. We had someone come look at our carpet and said “wow yeah, needs replaced” and then never got any sort of service after that even after countless attempts

Our experience with Buckeye has not been good. We have a sliding patio door does not close correctly. I reported in May 2020 and 14 months later it still has not been fixed. We also have two other minor problems that have not been fixed. I would not build with Buckeye if I ever built again. Customer service is horrible. You get the run around. They also have violated a contract that we had when we purchased the home.

We had a patio door that did not close properly. It needed replaced on our brand new house. It has been 14 months and they still have not replaced it. The door is well under warranty. The customer service response time is laughable. I would never build with Buckeye had I known this was their level of customer service.

Wouldn't recommend. It's a long story, but definitely not worth the price point. Would rather build with Seneca or Bankowski given what we've seen from friends.
Others seem to have been able to work with Mike and others, but we didn't. We didn't even see the "standards" book and then told later that it was "from our second meeting". We never had a second meeting. We barely had a 1st. Hope others have a better experience.

My family and I recently purchased a new construction, built by Buckeye. In order to write an honest and thorough review I decided to wait a little while and live in the house before writing a review. I will start with sending a shout out to our realtor Heather Smith LaPoint who I believe is one of the best realtors in the entire area. Buckeye did an INCREDIBLE job in everything to do with our new home.

We built our home with Buckeye and had a great experience! They have a great team to work with and after meeting with several builders, I feel like we got the biggest bang for our buck with Buckeye. A deciding factor for us was that Buckeyes “builder grades” were consider upgrades with other builders. With any project as big as building a home, errors must be expected. When things came up, Buckeye was responsive and solution oriented. In fact, there were several detail items that we did not notice but Jason went above and beyond and took the initiative to fix. Mike has a great team and quality

We built with Buckeye about 1.5 years ago in Perrysburg. We had a great initial experience with Jeff and Mike... really enjoyed working with them on the planning/purchasing phase. You hear many horror stories with building... and we had some hiccups, but nothing too extreme. A review by Anthony below really hit the nail on the head... and I will share some of our experiences as well.
Pros: The owners are great, decent price-per-square-foot, don't need to spend a lot on extras (we added hardwood, some electrical, humidifier), solid roof and foundation, Buckeye took care of many of the obvious defects

Let me start by writing that I have never publicly written anything negative about a company until now. We just built with Buckeye. They were good during the building process but as soon as we closed we were… forgotten about. SEVERAL of my neighbors have had the same experience! Problems that were to be addressed before we closed (over THREE months ago) have yet to be taken care of and have next to no communication. I feel absolutely horrible that I've ever recommend them. Go with builders that take pride in their performance, do their job correctly, and value your concerns.

Husband and I were having trouble finding a good house in the right location- we were super impressed with the Eckel Trace homes being built and the house we looked at is absolutely superior to anything we have seen yet in this area-if all goes as planned, we should have a new house in April- a must see to anyone looking in Perrysburg area! P.S. Tami Evans was exceptionally nice to work with so be sure to call if you are in the market for a home in this area...:)
