The owner, PJ, was somewhat rude. I thought he was a little arrogant on the phone when I asked him to help with a door lock issue at my place of business. Telling me, before even looking at the lock, that is was probably bad keys or needed to be oiled. I told him the keys were good and that they had always worked.
Not a big deal until he insisted on getting paid right then and there by my employee. Not good business! My employee told me that he was very rude and he said to her " I told her that it was the keys", meaning me. I have had locks changed and keys made for another of my businesses and

The folks at Ramona locksmith are very knowledgeable and personable. They have never let me down. They are located in the alley way behind Mobil gas station. Their prices are very fair. I had a problem at other shops that cut keys. Other places in town tried to cut my car key but failed. Ramona locksmith got it on the first try. It's definitely my go to place.

I had gone down the hill to the Sprinter Dealer for a key for my van. The dealer did not know what they were doing, I made 2 trips to Kearney Mesa, paid for a key and it did not work. The dealer could not program the new key to the main computer, (ECM).
Ramona Locksmith in half hr. max, made a key, cloned it and it worked. Cheaper than the dealer, faster than the dealer, and they are fun people to boot!.
I was told by the dealer that only they could make a key. My point is, see Ramona Locksmith first.

This business has changed ownership. That's important because the previous owner was overpriced. The new owner has reasonable prices and seems concerned with being a part of the community (he answers the phone any time... Good to know in case you're locked out!).
We had him re do the locks on our house, he was prompt and quick.
Edit: added July 11, 2017: a friend lost a car key.
Upon searching for the business it turns out they have moved, about 100 feet away, across the alley, behind the Mobil station.

I needed a key for a set of file cabinets that I had bought that did not have a key. I called one of those other locksmiths that advertise like they are from Ramona but really are not. They came out and immediately said that they could not do the job. So I realized my mistake and called Ramona Locksmith. He was able to look up the key and I was able to pick it up in the next 10 minutes so that I could avoid a trip charge. It turns out that there are a few options for keys to cut and he cut the wrong one. When I told him that the key didn't work, he made the key on both other types and dropped

I've used their services twice recently for projects that were more than just duplicating a common key. The shop has relocated and the new store is open, and professional. On both occasions, their knowledge and skill were what made for a successful outcome. Prices were extremely reasonable and service was warm, courteous and prompt. Saturday hours made things really convenient and my walk-in rekey project on a set of 4 European locks was quickly solved, even though there were no parts available. Honestly I've used them 2 times out of maybe the 10 that I needed them. They're never open during business hours. Both of their vans are there so they're not out on calls. They just open when they feel like it. I hate going down the hill because a Ramona business can't be open when it's supposed to be open! I left a message, and they didn't return my call. Done with them.
