Services
Innovative Pain Specialists was founded in 2011 by Dr. Marsiglia and Dr. Louis. At the time, there was a strong need for more research-proven, innovative treatments for those suffering from pain. We felt strongly that we could bring that type of care to the community where we grew up and currently reside.
Dr. Marsiglia grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and subsequently obtained a B.A. in Biology from Illinois Wesleyan University. He then pursued his professional medical training from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences as well as Midwestern University, where he received his medical degree in 2006.
In the United States, back pain affects nearly 80% of the population at some point in one's life. Chronic back pain is usually felt in the lower back, but may occur in the upper back as well as extend into your legs or feet.
A number of spinal diseases or injuries can trigger chronic back and leg pain, including degenerative disc disease, muscular strains, lumbar disc herniation, disc tears, facet joint disease, post-laminectomy pain syndrome, adhesions from previous spine surgeries, epidural fibrosis, and arachnoiditis.Symptoms range from mildly uncomfortable to completely disabling.

Neck pain can be quite a common problem in the general population, and can affect roughly 2/3 of the population at some time in their life. Although neck pain is typically felt in the neck, it can be caused by other problems not originating from the spine. Additional structures that can give rise to neck pain include muscular, nerve, vascular, airway, and digestive or be referred from other areas of the body.
Sciatica is also known as lumbosacral radiculitis or radiculopathy. The cause of the pain is usually from the lower lumbar spine due to herniated or bulging discs, spinal stenosis or facet hypertrophy, but could even come from muscles in the buttocks constricting the sciatic nerve, known as piriformis syndrome.

Great doctor. Dr. Marsiglia took the time to explain my problem and reviewed the treatment options. We tried a few approaches; the third time was a charm. I've had back pain for the past 2 years. When asked to assign a pain number, I said between 1 & 2, sometimes on a bad day - a 3 (that's when I brought out the heating pad). After being successfully treated, I was pain free - it's been about a month. Fingers crossed, it's long-term relief. And here's the thing, being pain-free made me realize how much pain I was in before. I guess I just got use to the continual presence of an aching back. In

I've been suffering with spinal stanosis for some time. Was getting epedurls every 3: months . It stopped working in February. The pain which was disabiltating ran down my right leg. I had to lay on my left side for it to stop. I was spending more time in bed. I couldn't drive. Could barely sit in a car or chair for that matter. I was in ER a lot. I then started serching for a pain specialist. I read Dr Louis profile. I've been to numerous pain Drs but I wouldn't give up. I thought 1 more time I'll try to get some relief and get my life back again! Dr Louis looked at my MRI imidetlly saw That where

They schedule my procedure for Thursday the 9th. I have to reschedule for following Tuesday, whoever I spoke with on the phone approved it.
Then, I received a message from them asking why I did not go to my procedure on Thursday.
When I called to explain, whoever answer the phone again said she was the manager and she assured no body could say that because there was no spots available for my new appointment x Tuesday the 14th.
Another words I was lying.
What a miscommunication in that office but even though it was their fault, the manager didn’t solve anything and said No body even the doctor

Have been to see Dr. Marsiglia for my lower back pain caused by a bulging disc pushing into my L-4
L-5 after. Gave me 2 epidural injections over a two week period. I’ve been doing great for 2 years.
Dr. M even came in on New Year’s Eve to give me the injection. Total lifesaver.
Highly recommend Dr. M.

I have been working with Dr. Louis for pain management of two lumbar herniated discs for the past 3+ years. He’s done both on-prem and off-prem fluoroscopy guided injections which always helped take the edge off the pain.
I’ve also done some PRP for my ankle.
Dr. Louis is very knowledgeable about the various procedures coming to market and makes those available to his clients.
I strongly recommend Dr. Louis and his staff.

I was referred to Dr. Marsiglia from my Rheumatologist, Dr. Palella. I had such a bad flare up from my Psoriatic Arthritis, I could barely walk. I called to get an appointment and was seen the next day. Dr. Marsiglia was extremely caring and very thorough. Seeing the pain I was in, he scheduled me that week to get an epidural injection. It's been 2 weeks since I had the injection and I feel SO much better. I would recommend IPS to anyone who deals with any kind of pain. What a great place! The staff is super nice too.

I've had chronic pain for years and particularly in the neck/head/shoulder area. I was referred to this clinic and Dr. Marsiglia (ms, sorry) did a procedure/injection in my neck which has been of tremendous help to me. A very caring and professional staff rounded out my positive experience. I'm very grateful for the relief.

I was very impressed with Dr. Louis' approach to my problem. I had pain in my left shoulder for years from a particularly nasty fall on K2 in the Karakorum (NW Pakistan). Other specialists led me to believe the pain stemming from the nerve damage would be difficult to mitigate. Dr. Louis took the time to thoroughly diagnose the issue and more importantly to explain the situation to me -- even going so far as to draw out a detailed anatomical sketch. He spent time explaining how his approach would be different and why he believed it would be more effective than the myriad attempts in the past. Long
