Sharon Music Academy has been teaching children and adults how to love, understand and enjoy music since 1990. We don't just teach you how to play a song; we teach you how to master an instrument. To be admitted to this program a student needs to pass an audition and needs to demonstrate a commitment for practice. ABRSM is the world's leading provider of music exams and assessments. Preparation for ABRSM exams is a very good way to get a structured piano education and ABRSM diplomas and certificates are internationally recognized levels of proficiency in music.
Sharon Music Academy has an extensive violin program. Our students successfully pass auditions and play in prestigious orchestras such as Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra, New England Conservatory Orchestra, All State Orchestra, South Eastern Massachusetts Orchestra and many local and school orchestras.
A.If you are a beginner it usually makes sense to start by renting a viola. To make it more convenient for our students the Sharon Music Academy has arranged with the national chain Rayburn to deliver and exchange violas on site. Our journey in SMA started in November of 2020. Amidst the pandemic, the immense support that our 4 year old son received from the academy was indeed amazing. Dr. Cho is an exceptional teacher who is more patient with our kid than we are as his parents. It's great to see Sanav loves playing piano so much. The whole credit goes to SMA and his teacher, Dr Cho. Thanks to the academy.

The school's environment seemed great until it wasn't.... The Administration mocked their own faculty behind the scenes and parents. I brushed it off, but the complaining kept on and so I realized I did not want my little one's exposure to such an environment any longer. We have other great choices, why go to a deteriorating culture. It's unfortunate.

Tanya and Sergey have made so much positive impact to our family in the past 11 years. I did a lot of research and found Tanya who has a gift to guide our 2 different kids to not only plays amazing piano but grow to be a mature young adult. She taught them different base on their personality and interest. She knows how to get them motivated. Sergey organized activities through out the year from performing at senior living assistant, local venues, Rockport, and Carnegie Hall. We’ve had a great experience with SMA so far. Our 9 year old has been taking piano lessons at SMA for about 1.5 yrs now, and I can see what a difference quality instruction makes. He’s now moving beyond just playing the notes and instead is playing with feeling. We started him on lessons because my wife and I both take great pleasure in music, despite neither of us being music majors or anything like that. My child has studying piano at Sharon music academy for three years. I have none but good things to say about the experience. The teachers are engaging, supportive and inspiring. As a result my child has grown more and more fond of the instrument and technically as well. On top of that, SMC has rich and high quality activities and programs that expand and deepen the students' understanding of music. My 10 year old son has been attending Sharon Music Academy since the beginning of this school year 2018. He previously took lessons at another music school, and while they were great with his "beginner lessons", I noticed he plateaued with his skill level. I have been with the Sharon Music Academy since I was six years old, I am now going on twenty-one. The education I received through out the years from Tanya Schwartzman (Director of the school) has given me the pianistic training and passion to continue my music education at a conservatory in New York. Sharon Music Academy is a Music Academy like no other. My daughter has lessons from great teachers, who are also amazing, actively performing musicians. Concerts and recitals at performance venues such as Carnegie Hall, Shaolin Liu Performance Center and Hard Rock Cafe; chamber groups and field trips provide memorable experiences to children and parents alike and instill love of music that will last a life-time. Once you take lessons here, you will not go anywhere else.

All three of my children take lessons from Sharon Music Academy. Each one of them with a different instrument and I can say with confidence that all of our teachers are amazing. My kids have progressed very nicely with the teachers kind and attentive instructions. The Kids have the opportunity to preform and compete, which builds thier confidence. Sharon Music Academy creates a warm and encouraging environment for learning music. My son does not compete in music competitions like many of the students do ( maybe he will grow into this later ) but he definitely enjoys many other music experiences that the Academy provides.
