The Market Cafe was once a functioning train depot that is now offering breakfast and lunch fare. The building is still original but has under gone renovations to become the restaurant. We promise an intimate and relaxed dining experience that offers something different to local patrons and ensures you enjoy a memorable food experience every time.
Services
The Market Cafe has been a shared dream by three separate owners and fueled by the passion of countless employees, friends and family. This is our story. Founded in 2005 by Leigh Urwiler, the cafe was a local fan favorite. With its fresh ingredients, local flavor and unique environment it's easy to see why the business was loved by so many patrons.

The food is good and they're nice to dogs. However, the coffee; I do like my coffee without flavor additives like macadamia nut, vanilla and what-not, but since they use the same grinder without cleaning it out, all the coffee is flavored. When I ask why my coffee tastes like all of that artificial flavor they tell me that the flavor is added to the beans before they even buy them. I guess that means if you usually hate vanilla coffee you have to like it because the flavor was technically added at a different point in the process? None of the staff could even understand why it would matter to me

Thank you for taking care of me today at lunch. I travel the entire Commonwealth as part of my job and it's nice to find hidden gem like Market Cafe. The red skin potato salad was excellent! The Reuben was hot with a good amount of sauerkraut. The cafe is in the old station, so if you like trains, you may see a freight train rumble by.

First time here to this cute little place! We had to eat outside due to the dining room being closed but thankfully the weather was agreeable! They serve very good quality food and they have friendly service! The hot irish cream latte I ordered was better than average! Given the chance I would definitely come here again!

We love this place!! A great spot to grab awesome coffee, homemade quiche, speciality sandwiches and of course the ambiance of sitting in or outside an old railroad station, what is not to like! Great place for stopping on a bike ride, grabbing a drink and having a conversation, or just plain having good food and conversation!

I occasionally manage to get unflavored coffee but usually it is flavored with coconut or caramel nut. I always ask for unflavored. My guess is that they don't clean out the coffee grinder between grinds. I need to go somewhere where the baristas taste the coffee they make and care about it. This is my last coffee here.

I haven't found a ton of eating establishments I would recommend in the upper Berks County area but The Market Cafe is one of my favs! The building is a refurbished little train station with cute cozy spaces. The food is yummy, including a variety of teas and coffees, homemade scones and such, quiches and breakfast sandwiches. I've only gone for breakfast so can't comment on lunch foods, but from the standpoint of ambiance, it's super chill in a good way. Besides the food and location, a lot of what I like about is the groovy music playing in the atmosphere. Nice place for low

Love this place! It has changed hands, but I've seen a lot of growth since then. The food is fresh and so good. The homemade cakes and pastries are fabulous - it's a great place to stop for a fresh, hot cup of coffee (Jamaican Me Crazy is my favorite!) and pastry or a light meal. The atmosphere is really nice and the staff are friendly and the place is clean. They also catered my wedding and I wouldn't have had anyone else cater it - the service was terrific and the food was fantastic. I love that we have some place like this to go in my small home town. Here's to many years

By far one of the best places to eat in the Lehigh Valley...food, prices, service. Seriously. It's a little place, but quaint...in an old train depot. Staff very friendly with quirky sense of humor. The place has a beatnik feel to it, like a cool place you'd find in a good college town. Unlike some of the other reviews, I just haven't had a problem with the wait. Usually served within 15min for a larger order (people are in too much of a hurry these days...slow down people...enjoy life...enjoy the train rumbling on by. Not open for dinner, but I wish they were. Great menu

The business has changed hands since my last review. I really wanted to like this place as much as I had before. Perhaps it's a case of, "familiarity breeds contempt," but I must say I've stopped going here altogether. I was understanding when things were just getting started (even though very little, including the staff, has changed) that it was going to be a bit rough around the edges. But after a month, and my orders are either forgotten about or needed to be redone, I was losing patience. Then there was the line to the door that didn't move. I was in and out a

I have recently started frequenting the Market Cafe & find it delightful for lunch. Great soups, salads, and sandwiches await. Some of the best I've had in the area, hands down. Just beware, the indoor seating is limited & does tend to get taken quickly during the lunch hour. During the summer months, outdoor seating is plentiful & nice, but the nearby train makes outdoor dining conversations difficult.

I will be fair. This place is delicious; but has its issues. A very surprising find in the small town of Topton, PA. I have only recently discovered this establishment, within the past year. Breakfast is my usual, sometimes lunch. Food is always delicious and fresh. Seating is great, people are very nice....price is fantastic. I recommend it!

Now for the honest issues. The service is not so great. One experience was during brunch around 11 in the morning. They seemed busy, but had plenty of staff in full view. It took 40 minutes from order to table
