The Bagel Bar Cafe
Please help us out by continuing to place your orders online then pick up your order at the Pick Up Spot located in the side alley where your dream bagel awaits! The Bagel Bar Cafe is a family-owned business that's world famous for it's breakfast and lunch "bagelwiches" prepared on one of 25 varieties of authentic New York bagels that are baked fresh every day.

Open daily for breakfast and lunch, we're located in the heart of downtown Kutztown. It's a great place to hang out with friends or to chill out solo with a book and a great cup of joe. Or if a laptop or tablet is more your thing, bring it along because there's always free wi-fi available. It's not just iced coffee.
Services
The Bagel Bar Cafe was established in 1994 by Christine Kreisher. She started the business on a dare by Bob, a local bike shop owner. Bob dared Christine to sell bagels and coffee out of his shop, The Bicycle Den. Christine's husband, Jim, and his father, Jim Sr., built her a "bar" in the front window of the bike shop.
Have you ever taken a moment between sips of your favorite beverage to wonder where it came from? How does the coffee you're drinking effect the people or the environment in which it's grown? What about the farmers who grew it? How are they treated? How 'bout what's actually in the drink? Was your coffee grown using pesticides and/or herbicides?

Eaten here multiple times, each time better than the last.
Would highly recommend the lattes and even moreso the bagel sandwiches, which in my opinion taste like they put their whole bagussy into each one.

I like to support local businesses. This coffee shop is very good. However they are painfully slow. It is not the staffing. I watch two girls at the target Starbucks beat down a line of 10 people in less than 10 minutes. Yet I have waited up to 10 minutes by myself for a cappuccino After ordering ahead by five minutes and pre-pay. I have got entire meals at a diner in less than 15 minutes.Again great café. Need to teach a little more hustle. I am not a casual college student or a retiree, I am on my way to work.

I’ve eaten here a number of times over the last couple of years, and the bagels and sandwiches are always great, especially for what you pay. My only issue is that I wish they had a better variety for the sandwiches, I feel like they could really do with some new interesting menu items that aren’t drinks and don’t have strawberry cream cheese with meats and cheese 😬

A very cute joint... bagels not so much worth it. Got here was asked to order online. Couldn't place order through my Android phone so had to call in the order.
Guy who took the order made the process feel very rushed especially for a newbie customer. They were out of cinnamon raisin bagels - needed to order a dozen but only 3 was available so had to come up with plan b and honestly this was the worst experience at a bagel shop ever.
Got the bagels drove 30 minutes back to find these damn bagels were so hard to the extent we had to throw them all out. I was anxiously looking forward to trying

Love their bagels and drinks. I got the veggie wich bagel and it’s amazing. Only thing is I am not a huge fan of the new ordering process and I wish they did order in and pick up

Bagel bar is by far the best breakfast stop in town for a breakfast sandwich in my opinion. With that they have their pros and cons. The pros outweigh the cons 99% of the time. The bagels and sandwiches are always incredibly fresh and delicious. The coffee can often be very good and the specials are always worth checking out. Sometimes due to their very good food they also can have a very long wait / sold out items. It can be a disappointment However when on point everything is amazing!

My god, THE BAGEL BAR!! I have held back on trying this place for years because I thought it would not live up to the hype but I have never been so wrong. I got The Swiss Gobbler which was a specialty bagel and it was phenomenal. Such fresh ingredients. For a wake up, I got the Iced Peanut Brittle Crunch and it was amazing! The cold foam on top had an actual peanut butter flavor and it was so good! I will definitely be back.

Yummm 😋 I love the Bagel Bar so much! I would come here all the time and get some coffee and a nice bacon egg and cheese bagel amongst other things. I think that the atmosphere is really cute and it’s one of my favorite places in kutztown along with pops. The inside looks really nice, you could take cute photos and they even have board games and stuff that you can play while you eat eat there with friends or family. Writing this review actually makes me want to go get some bagel bar right now. The only thing is that they do close relatively early, but if you manage to make it there while they’re

I discovered this place years ago as a student at the university and now they have become our go to breakfast spot. They are very careful to operate safely during COVID and still offer good food and very reasonable prices. We order online with the Joe app and our food is always ready when we arrive & exactly what we ordered. They do get busy on the weekends so ordering ahead on the app is the way to go. Their bagels are the best I've found in Berks county by far. I've tried many of their drink specials (some are a bit sweet for me) but I always go back to the cold brew.

Came here on a recommendation. Brought my elderly mother in got her seated and prepared to order online. The $15 minimum is a total turn off regardless of how good their bagels may be. I would not mind the minimum if that was what I was going to spend . Absolutely no desire to ever come back..

Their food is okay, overall.

I've had quite a few of their bagels and cream cheese spreads, and I've enjoyed them overall. I like their coffee, but I don't think it's any better than any chain restaurant like Dunkin or Starbucks.

However, I do really enjoy their seasonal menus. They aren't afraid to switch things up and try new items. I think that's fun and really adds to the charm of a small business.

However, the wait times really get me. I waited almost 40 minutes for a bagel, untoasted, with a side of cream cheese. All they had to do was literally cut a bagel

A cool little bagel bar with many selections of bagels and sandwiches. The coffee, espresso, cappuccino and teas are all very good. Limited seating, but I think that adds to the atmosphere. Top rate staff that is friendly and eager to please.

I didn't like bagel that much before I got to know about the Bagel Bar Cafe. There are quite many options that you can choose from, either sweet bagels or salty bagels (like the one with tuna). The bread is freshly baked and it reaches the decent level of moist and softness. Get a bagel and sip a little bit coffee will enlighten your day up! Highly recommend!

I haven't found a true bagel joint since we moved from Florida 1 year ago. Today was the day. With my daughter off from school and me off also we ventured outside of the norm. I thought it would be some rinky dink place and to my surprise this place is cool and we loved the atmosphere. And now the food!!

The coffee variety was broad and the bagel selections were the best I have seen in a long time. I decided on the french roast double coffee and am loving it. I also am loving the western omelet with bacon on a salt bagel. My daughter went with cream cheese on a multigrain bagel including

I don't understand how this has an average of three stars. It's a bagel shop and they have perfected the craft of bagel sandwiches. Lots of fresh bagels to choose from with any topping you would customarily have in your typical bagel shop.

Nice coffees, teas, smoothies, etc. to choose from in regards to beverages, hot or cold.

Sometimes the music can be a little loud in there but whatever.
