ERI Building and Design, LLC has been creating dream homes for its Darien clients for over 30 years. Kent Eppley founded the general contracting firm Eppley Renovations in 1984, and the business quickly grew. In 1998, certified residential designer, Mike Palumbo, joined the team, adding design services to the business.
In 2000, figuring they had outgrown their company name, they changed the business name to ERI Building & Design, LLC. ERI Building and Design, LLC strives to live up to its reputation as a trustworthy, quality, and experienced design-build firm. We believe using a design-build firm, where all the services are under one roof, can save a homeowner both time and money.

Services
ERI Building and Design can help solve the most difficult of design challenges. We specialize in problem-solving when it comes to site development as well as with solving drainage and flooding issues. In addition we have experience with remodeling and building homes in compliance with FEMA regulations.

We asked ERI to redesign our kitchen and family room, adding significantly to the size of the rooms and their functionality. We were thrilled with the work that ERI did and how it was accomplished. Even with Covid challenges, the project was finished in a reasonable timeframe. They are transparent about price adjustments (which were due to supply chain issues) and everyone at ERI and the subcontractors they involve are creative and so nice.

Kent and his team are very thorough and thoughtful. We moved out from NYC and bought a house in Fairfield County that we knew we wanted to renovate and make substantial updates to but that process was overwhelming and we were concerned about who to trust. Kent was referred to us by friends who live in town and we really liked that he has over 35 years of experience under his belt and that Kent and his wife Lisa live in Darien and have raised their children there.
For the renovation, Kent and his business partner Mike walked us through every step and were very straightforward with the pricing and timeline. ERI Building and Design were soup to nuts. We started with renderings, and together we make tweaks, and then Kent and Mike and his team got to work pulling the necessary permits and the work started shortly thereafter. The ERI crew and employees are incredibly professional – at the end of every day the work was put away and the area cleaned up very thoroughly, and when the entire project was finished there was not a single nail or screw left behind. Throughout it all Kent and Mike were very responsive to any of our questions, phone calls and emails. We were incredibly happy with our kitchen renovation and have continued to use ERI over the years for even the small things – replacement of a water heater, emergency help when our basement flooded and exterior and interior painting needs.

I would recommend ERI for any project, big or small. They've done everything for us including designing & building a covered deck and outdoor living space, light installations, masonry & fixing a stone wall after storm damage, and even fixing a broken door after our cat got locked in a bathroom! In my experience, ERI is always on budget, on time, and executes flawless work. They are there immediately whenever needed. Kent, Mike and the entire team are pros.
