Stoney Creek Winery
Stoney Creek Winery is a family owned and operated winery. Our family has been making wine for at least 4 generations. We have a strong Mennonite heritage so getting information on who, in our family had made wine in the past is not always easy, but we are finding that wine making was more commonly practiced than talked about.

My wife Jan and I have two sons who have enjoyed making wine for us for many years, and we have enjoyed drinking it. This of course set our lives on hold for about a year. We have now moved into our new home and two weeks later we opened the winery. We are curently making wine from juice and local fruit.

The last winery we stopped at on our weekend wine tour of Northern Indiana. Stoney Creek is a very small boutique winery. Most of their wines are fruit based. We are both dry red wine lovers, but we tried a few of their fruit wines and we both admitted we were pleasantly surprised that we liked them. D liked the dry blackberry and I had one of their frozen peach wine drinks. The husband & wife owners are especially welcoming. It was a lovely day sitting out on their small patio enjoying the country scenery sipping our glasses of wine.

We stopped in to check this place out as we toured northern Indiana wineries. This small winery is located out in the country side. Their signage is very small. However the place wasn't too difficult to find.

You will find a very small tasting building. The outside isn't very flashy. The drive is rough gravel. They have a small patio at the door that has two round tables. These are pretty simple and unimpressive. The building is an old cement block structure that has been dressed up a bit with a rustic room and upper.

Inside the foyer and tasting bar are very small as well.

Place is out in the country small for a startup winery but they allow you to sample as many wines without charging tasted all of the sweet wines and couldn't say which one we liked since they were all so good we ended up purchasing a case will be going back to this place read other three reviews and wondered if they actually went to this place or just wrote a bad review since it is in the country so the place was small owners were friendly not rude and we wasn't charged for sampling just charged when purchasing a full bottle of wine.

Do not go out of your way for this one. all previous reviews are correct, this tiny shed-like winery isn't anything special whatsoever. the couple working acted like we were a total inconvenience to them & made zero attempt to seem welcoming. we quickly gulped down our glasses of wine & left, as it was such an uneasy feeling to be alone with this angry couple in this tiny shed on their residential property. wine was awful too.

My hubby and I stopped by today,,what a jewel,, it is tiny but the wine maker Jeremy was awesome and amazing!! He gave us tastings aplenty and was very knowledgeable!! Stop here and say Mary and Sam recommended!! You will not be disappointed unless u are expecting a mass produced winery!!! This is not one of those. He does not hurry the wines

Couple was very rude. Walked into door with no greeting and ignored us until we placed our order.
They did not offer help as to which wines to select. The woman did not give us time to enjoy our wine and made us pay immediately after ordering, so we did not order seconds. Wine was ok, but overall would not go back due to poor service.
