Working in the hospital setting for over 20 years gave HouseCall Primary Care founder, Dr. Shattuck, a unique perspective on healthcare. Over the years, he has treated patients after they have undergone a significant health crisis. After doing this for so long, he realized patients were seldom provided with a holistic approach.
Many people are functionally housebound. Whether from serious medical conditions or mental health illness, it is often a tremendous burden to simply get out of the house to go see a physician, which can be socially isolating. Our goal is to come into the homes of patients and help restore them to the highest level of function possible.
Yes, we are participating with Medicare Part B, as well as most Medicare replacement plans. Most health care plans are accepted. HouseCall Primary Care will act as your new PCP and will be named as such with your insurance company. Many Medicare replacement plans require that the patient select a primary care provider to be named on your insurance card; without this step we would be unable to take care of you in your place of residence.
Deaver Shattuck was born in Knoxville and raised in Clinton. A charter member of the Society of Hospital Medicine, he was the original hospitalist at Blount Memorial Hospital where he still practices. He founded and is medical director of Blount Hospitalists.
