To us, going to the dentist is about more than having teeth cleaned or cavities filled. Dr. Knechtel's experience in dentistry is coupled with genuine concern for your child. We believe that a partnership between our office and our parents will encourage our patients to maintain an overall healthy and happy smile.

Services
The American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Dental Association all recommend that your child visit the dentist by age 1. This visit will establish a dental home for your child. Early examination and preventive care will protect your child's smile now and in the future.
Our practice, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry all recommend that your child visit the dentist six months after the eruption of the first tooth or by the age of one. More than 1 in 4 children in the United States have cavities by the time they are 4 years old and establishing a "Dental Home" for your child will allow for appropriate preventive and routine oral health care.
A toothbrush will remove plaque bacteria that can lead to decay. Any soft-bristled toothbrush with a small head, preferably one designed specifically for infants, should be used at least once a day at bedtime. In order to prevent dental problems, your child should see a pediatric dentist when the first tooth appears, or no later than his/her first birthday.
Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. At Blue Ridge Pediatric Dentistry, we are trying our best to filter through these developments and react according to advice from public health organizations that we trust: the Centers for Disease Control and Buncombe County Health Department.

Awesome skilled dentist (❤️ Dr. Dan) and pristine beautiful office with movable train for decoration. Very appealing for youngsters. Great staff. Gentle with kids. Lots of good distraction when needed (iPad, TV cartoon on ceiling, etc.) & they have the most adorable sweet therapy dog to alleviate kids’ anxiety. Parents allowed to accompany kids. Don’t go anywhere else. Our kids never complain about going to the dentist. 5 stars!

It’s always been a great visit when my kids have appointment. The staff are always friendly and welcoming! I most definitely appreciate the office for preventative measures such providing masks if you don’t have one, hand sanitizer and so much more. My kids actually look forward to going to the dentist!

My daughter isn’t a little toddler. She’s 9 but has lots of fear around dentistry. This office made a huge difference for her! The therapy dog & the warm welcome made her feel much more comfortable. Also the hygienist explained each thing she was doing in a very kind way, which my daughter liked also.
