A Will can ensure that your final wishes are carried out as you had intended and provide protection for your loved ones. A Will also lists who you would like to act as your Personal Representative. This is the person who administers your estate per the instructions set out in your Will. For those with minor children, a Will can be used to nominate a guardian for your minor children and set up a testamentary trust to fund their upbringing.

While many choose the same agent for both their financial and healthcare decision-making, you can have separate agents for each category.
Often referred to as a "Living Will, " a Health Care Directive is a document that conveys your wishes regarding certain medical treatments. Having this document saves your loved ones from confusion and stress as they can rely on the document for direction regarding your treatment preferences.
