Services
The PPD IL Alliance (PPD IL) is run entirely by volunteers who donate their time each week to provide informed support and information to women and their families who are experiencing pregnancy and/or postpartum mood disorders either by phone or email.

We used to only think of depression as happening postpartum and concentrated on postpartum depression (PPD) but research has showed us that many women experience these symptoms during pregnancy too. Mood disorders such as depression and anxiety that occur during pregnancy or within a year of delivery are now referred to as Perinatal Mood Disorders (PPMDs).
What should I do if I think I am experiencing a mood disorder while pregnant or after having a baby?. Contact the Postpartum Depression Alliance of IL at Email Support or 847 205-4455 (a helpline volunteer will email or call you back within 24 hrs) for support and information. If you feel that you need immediate care, call NorthShore University HealthSystem 1-866-364-MOMS hotline, your local hospital, 911 or 1-800- SUICIDE.
