CarePartners
The majority of family caregivers are overwhelmed by the responsibilities of care giving. 35% of caregivers for people with Alzheimer's or another dementia report that their health has gotten worse due to care responsibilities. We provide support, education, resources and respite to family caregivers and quality no cost care to those individuals living with memory loss, Alzheimer's or Dementia and other challenges of aging.

Thanks to the generosity of HEB, Home Care Assistance, Encompass Health and AARP Texas, CarePartners was able to deliver 400 Caregiver Activity Kits directly to the caregiver's doorstep. These kits included puzzles, crafts, word search and other activities family caregivers can do along with their loved ones during this stay-at-home order.
Services
CarePartners is a nonprofit, volunteer led organization that provides support, education, and resources for caregivers and quality care for those living with memory loss and other challenges of aging. Much of our care is for the vulnerable elderly and individuals with Alzheimer's or related dementia.
The Care Team concept began in 1985 when CarePartners founders, Earl Shelp, Ph. D. and Ronald Sunderland, Ed. D., joined together to provide a support system of care for a colleague who was diagnosed with AIDS. The founders started a network of congregational partnerships that could provide compassionate care through volunteer programs using the award winning Care Team model.
Do you feel as if you have access to or knowledge of all the education resources available? We are here to help. We provide education, support and resources for family caregivers through our caregiver conferences and common ground programs. We want all caregivers to feel supported emotionally and practically.
CarePartners programs are located across the Greater Houston and Waco areas. CarePartners collaborates with more than 71 different partners who host our programs. Caregivers and individuals living with memory loss or other challenges of aging must register by completing a registration intake with a CarePartners Coordinator prior to attending a Gathering Place, Common Ground or Second Family program.
The CarePartners staff are working with each individual partner location to establish a reopening timeline for some of our traditional in-person programs. We have developed a phased approach to opening in-person programming. Each site can select which phase works best for their location as well as individual safety protocols.
