I love meeting new people and bonding with other mommies over the joys and complexities of motherhood and family life. My husband's job leads us to move every few years so I am always looking to connect with others, whether it's through photography, our local church, or out and about!

Services
It is never too early to book your newborn session! Newborn sessions are my priority but my calendar fills quickly. It is best to contact me in your second trimester or early third trimester to be placed on my newborn calendar to ensure a spot. For a successful newborn session, please plan for your session to take place during the first 3-10 days after birth to help ensure a sleepy, flexible baby.
In addition to newborn sessions, I also offer a sitting up session (generally from 6-9 months but varies from baby to baby) and a one-year-old birthday session with cake smash and bubble bath. I do not currently offer sessions for babies that cannot sit up unassisted (with the exception of newborns, which are done 3-10 days after birth).
Maternity sessions are only available when booked in conjunction with a newborn session--perfect for families looking for a consistent look in their portraits. This is a great time to pamper yourself and have your hair and makeup professionally done before your session. You will need nude seamless maternity underwear and a well-fitting, supportive nude strapless bra for most maternity gowns.
I have watched my children grow so quickly and feel a sense of urgency to record and capture as many memories as possible. When my second daughter was just a few months old, I was reminded of how quickly that newborn stage goes by. You're paying for beautifully lit, meticulously styled, expertly posed, and professionally edited images.
Video shows a basic baby edit from start to finish using hand edits in Adobe Photoshop on a Mac. Basic Photoshop knowledge is assumed. Portraiture (available here) is the demonstrated tool for skin smoothing but you can use the skin smoother of your choice. This image was shot with an 85mm at f/2.5, 1/250s, ISO 160 using an AB400 strobe with a 7' octabox.

Summer brings the perfect trifecta to portraits: great photographer, great with parents, and great with kids!

Summer responded immediately to our inquiry and was able to accommodate us right away when our daughter was born 3 weeks early. On the day of the portraits she made the whole experience great and was so good with our newborn! Her portraits are absolutely stunning!!!! I can't stress enough how wonderful it was working with Summer of Bella Rose Portraits! I would absolutely recommend Summer to anyone and everyone. She was more than accommodating to the craziness that is having a baby plus I was SO impressed with her patience with my newborn as well as my toddler. I was nerves about my sons newborn session but that quickly changed while watching Summer with my baby boy. Summer is amazing at what she does. She was able to keep my son calm and warm and capture amazing photos at the same time . It's very clear she is passionate about her work and it shows. Spectacular photos and awesome experience! I loved it all. Summer made sure the photos worked well with our decor and were exactly what we wanted according to our color/style preferences. She nailed it! Even more amazing than I could have imagined. She's so creative. Def also an expert w making your baby comfy and cozy in her professional studio. Summer is ALL YOU WILL EVER NEED FOR YOUR BABY'S PHOTOGRAPHY!!!! You couldn't find a better Newborn Photographer if you tried. Go ahead and try. That's right, you couldn't find one. It's cuz she's the BEST. EVERY. SINGLE. IMAGE is perfect. I've been amazed at how she is able to take totally crazy, newborn skin (bumpy, red, splotchy, acne, jaundice, you name it) and make it smooth and creamy- and it looks beautiful and natural. Soooo many photographers don't do this well. I see (too often) images of babies looking red/splotchy

I loved working with Summer. I have twin boys and wanted to capture them immediately after birth. It is hard finding a twin photographer, but Bella Rose Portraits did great! You can tell that she has newborn photography experience and pulled out all the props - pillows, sound machines, warmth. Despite being incredibly close to having her own baby, she worked with me on the twins unexpected early arrival and captured them beautifully. I love watching her baby portraits show in my Facebook feed; she is a talented photographer!

I searched high and low for an exceptional newborn photographer. I found everything that I was looking for and more in Summer. I spent about 3-4 hours at her home studio while she photographed my son. She was completely gracious and professional throughout. She is clearly amazing at what she does.
The photos were exceptional. We ended up with the 26 different photos and at least 6 or 7 looks. Summer captured the magic of having a newborn. Her photos are remarkable. In fact, they made my 94-year-old grandmother cry when she saw them! I really appreciated the time she took to meet with my husband and I and to discuss the style of the photo, including the colors, backgrounds and overall feel. She also incorporated our 7-year-old son in the photo shoot and the photos of the boys together turned out incredible. I find myself looking at our photos every day. Summer has a fantastic studio with amazing props/accessories. She communicated in detail about our newborn session prior to our daughter being born and thoroughly planned for it. Her online contract and payment system were professional and convenient. During the session, Summer was a natural with our daughter (it was obvious she has plenty of experience with newborns). She was patient and determined to get the perfect shots, even when our daughter woke up mid pose or began to fuss. The photos were absolutely breathtaking and she had them edited in a week's time!

Summer is an excellent photographer and very easy to get along with! When our son was born, we had a hard time finding a newborn photographer. We really wanted someone who specialized in babies only instead of someone who photographs anything! Summer is the BEST photographer I have been to. She has done photos of my daughters for birthday parties, special occasions and just because. He colors are vibrant, poses are original and unique, and she is open to trying new things or using whatever ideas you have to make your photos exactly what you want.
