High Sierra provides terrific Yosemite camping, right on the banks of the seasonal Fresno River. Bring your 'Big Rig' RV and enjoy full hook-up camping directly along the banks of the Scenic Fresno River in Oakhurst, CA, just 17 short miles from Yosemite National Park. What would a Yosemite camping experience be without tent campsites?
When the Park Service opens reservations, 5 months out on the 15th of each month at 7am PT, nearly every campsite fills on the very first day, often within minutes! And they don't even have any hook-ups! Why deal with Yosemite Park reservations, when you can simply pick up the phone and call us any time you want.
Many of our long-term guests originally came for a short visit, only to fall madly in love with the beauty and serenity of the California High Sierra. We offer a relaxing, friendly atmosphere, well-lit grounds and paved roads. Mature shade trees are found throughout the park for those hot summer days.

This was a prefect spot for our basecamp during the snow dump just before New Years. Roads in town were clear and easy to get up to Goat Meadows Snow Play area for some sledding. To get into Yosemite you would have needed snow chains as required by the rangers so be prepared.
As for the Campground, Full hook-ups available (Water, 30/50AMP, cable tv, wi-fi free for an hour then a fee). The temps barely got down to freezing at night but the water hook-ups were still frozen until about 10am each morning so be sure to fill up your tanks when you get in. Quiet park with a good flowing river behind

Donna was extremely rude to me and a friend of mine, both locals. I could have potentially been a monthly tenant. We simply parked the car (after getting permission from the manager) and walked around to check out RV Sites & get a good dog walk in. We got yelled at by Donna when we came back and told not to return! We were extremely polite and courteous with her & obeyed her requests, and didn't come within even 50 feet of any of her guests! She was even slamming doors she was so angry! I literally was at the same property the day before and speaking to the manager about her monthly RV sites and

Nice camp site. Very tight trying to back in and no room to turn around. If the spaces around us weren't empty when we arrived Im not sure what we would have done, would have had to back all the way down the road to the site. But just arrived and all went pretty smoothly. 28' toy hauler paired with 1999 f-250

Run -do not walk - from this campground. Be prepared to rearrange your travel plans if you need to speak to the office personnel as they are only in the office between 3 and 5. We arrived Thursday night and the bathrooms were unkempt. Sunday when we left bathrooms were still unkempt and had not been cleaned at all. Also, the hand dryers run continuously making the bathrooms very hot. The shower was also not cleaned, numerous bottles of soap and body scrubbers left from other campers littered the shower. I now have a foot infection that I suspect came from this place. When taking a shower be prepared

This campground is just okay. Would not recommend if you have kids. There is no playground, swimming pool, etc. Just a very small place to park your camper for the night.
The sites are VERY close together. The sewer hookups are quite far from where they should be. We had to use 3 sewer hoses running up hill to empty our tanks.
The sites are gravel and dirt, which is okay, but pretty messy.
The showers are also are okay. The bathroom Is cramped but clean-ish.
The shower house is up the hill from the regular RV sites, next to a very sketchy trailer park. I did not feel comfortable letting my

High Sierra is a no hassle RV park, it was extremely well kept and scenic place. The water stream and the swim section in the RV park is a major attraction. The staff is freindly and caring. Being our first RV trip we didn't face any issues with the park amenities. Few things which wasn't a issue for us but may be for others would be are slow internet and the mis directed entry to the park(maybe Google maps issue) which could be easily avoided.
