Located in Historic Downtown Gresham, Oregon, we are a Pre-Professional Dance Academy that provides classes in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Lyrical, Pointe, Acro, Tumble and more. We have competitive dance groups that compete in local and regional competitions. We also provide a Performing Arts Camp for children of our community each summer.

Services
Hood Dance Academy was purchased by Sabrina Benner & Brittany Rea in 2008. We feature a wide range of classes in all levels. From ballet to lyrical jazz, tap/jazz, hip hop, technique and more. Mt. Hood Dance Academy also offers competitive dance teams for those looking to enhance their performance qualities and enrich their dance training.
Brittany brings a diverse background to dance as a choreographer, in many types of dance including tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, musical theater, ballet, and cheer. Brittany has trained with top choreographers from all over the globe such as Chris Judd, Jason Parsons, Joe Lanteri, and Mia Michaels from "So You Think You Can Dance".
We offer ongoing class registration throughout our season. Our season follows a standard school season of September-June. However, we do allow students to register throughout the year. Late season enrollment beyond the month of March may not allow enough time for the student to perform in our Spring performance as choreography has been set and class costumes previously ordered.
Our MHDA Competition Team focuses on giving the dancer more performance opportunities, more stage time, and the chance to learn what being a part of a team is all about. Our competition team is like an extended family and the friendships created are priceless! Mt. Hood Dance Academy offers competition dance in group divisions and solo, duo, and trio dance opportunities.
Dance classes for your independent dancer! Focusing on teaching the basics of tumbling, acrobatic and dance skills. Children will also learn a jungle story where we move like animals inspired by dance including tap, jazz, ballet, games, craft, etc. Get your child moving and building confidence! This camp will focus on all the different pop stars, while we learn tap, jazz, hip hop, ballet basics.

I just signed my daughter up for classes for the first time and even though I don't have any actual class experience to review, I have to say I have been utterly impressed with the communication from this studio. I have had a billion questions about which classes my daughter should take, registering online, clothing questions etc and I'm amazed to say their communication is stellar. I was getting email responses after 9pm last night! What an awesome first impression I have of this studio. Can't wait for my daughter to start next week!

My daughter has been going here for 7 years. We wouldn’t go anywhere else! The instruction here is top notch and everyone is like family. If you are looking for good structure and a positive atmosphere... This is your place. There are competitive levels for all ages and skill levels. When we chose Mt. Hood Dance Academy we had no idea we would also be inheriting life long friends and family. ♥️
