My name is Monique and I am the owner of Exploring Textiles, a sewing and arts school. I started the School after searching local sewing stores and realizing that what was being offered was not what I was looking for. My specialty is sewing, tailoring, and kids classes. I started sewing in 1995 at a store that no longer exists.

My mentor was a master tailor and I learned the finer details of hand couture and menswear tailoring. Over the years I've discovered that people are more interested in finishing a project quickly, rather than making sure every tailor basting stitch is even on your lapel. I moved to Boulder in 1983 to attend the University of Colorado.
Services
Our Junior Artist Programs are all inclusive. Starting at Age 6, children can enroll in the Sewing & Arts Academy. Students will be grouped by age to ensure kids enjoy the classes, have fun, and make new friends. The Sewing & Arts Academy is the hub for the Junior Artist Program. Junior Artists will participate in sewing, quilting, home decor, acrylic painting and watercolor painting drawing, macrame, crochet, weaving, and more.
Exploring Textiles knows how challenging it is when children have school days off but parents have to work. We want to make your life easier so we are offering half-day and full-day programs. Most programs will be theme specific with open time to "free create". Below are the school days-off and school holidays for Boulder Valley School District, St. Vrain Valley School District, and St. Vrain Community Montessori School.
If your sewing experience is limited (or none), our goal is to help you fall in love with everything sewing. You will start with simple projects, building your skills, one step at a time. If you have been sewing for a while, our goal is to offer you an environment that will help you expand your knowledge and give you confidence and skills to pursue more complex projects.
