Jazz is an award-winning celebrity stylist who starting braiding at the age of 3. Growing up with two older sisters who were hairstylist and other beauty influences hair came natural to Jazz. Unsatisfied with what the corporate world had to offer she left it all behind to leave her mark on the earth in a more satisfying way.
Making people happy and feel good about themselves was much more rewarding than anything else she had ever done. It only took about 50 failed job attempts to take her back to her true passion of being a hairstylist. In 2015 Jazz'd Up Inc was Founded by Jazzmin Austin. The mission is simple, empower people through hair.

Due to a medical condition I lost my hair. I bought a blonde wig, but it needed coloring to look natural. Jazzmin did a terrific job. She sent me photos while she was doing it to ensure it was what I wanted. She advised me on care of the wig. She did it quickly and was reasonably priced. I do not normally write reviews, but this was such a great experience when I really needed help and support, that I get I had to.

I’ll be moving out of state soon so sadly I won’t be able to go to Jazz to get my hair done anymore, but I just want say how great of a job she does!! She always goes above and beyond and is willing to fix any issues you may have. I definitely recommend going to her if you’re in the San Diego area!

I been with Jazz since she started doing hair and every time she did it, she did a great job. I always tip her but I went to get my hair done by her and she did a horrible job and made me pay for the horrible job. I texted her and told her she did an horrible job and the whole time she fixed it she was unprofessional and had a bad attitude. I will never go back to her again.

I had a crochet hair style from a previous hair stylist that didn't last long and was poorly constructed. While in the SD area, I came across her salon, setting up the appointment was streamline, as well as the takedown process-- thorough hair washing, and subsequent style. My hair is now 2 weeks old, and holding up well. She doesn't just "do your hair," she caters to the needs of every client and individualizes/modifies the style as she sees fit. I highly recommend her!

The hair is thick, silky, so healthy. It's so healthy actually that it doesn't matte, it often just falls out of braids because it's such nice quality. I love silky, healthy hair!
I have worn a lot of hair extensions and I found two places that have great hair. It's Jazz'd Up Hair and this other place that closed. So I am grateful to have found her!!

Every time I leave Jazz's chair I truly feel much more confident and beautiful. She always does a thorough and professional job giving me exactly what I want, but most importantly what I need. She actually cares about your hair and will tell you exactly what styles, maintenance, and products will allow your hair to grow and be healthy. I was in town for only a few days and had JUST gotten a crochet that I HATED. Jazz was able to get me in and the price was right. I was I. And out in 2 hours and she even had taken a short lunch break. I’m taking out the crochet now effortlessly and none of them came out. Over the past year and a half that I have been a patron with Jazz, she has never failed to impress me with her skill, professionalism, and innovation to give me exactly what I'm looking for! She's especially known for assisting damaged hair to grow and I'm been extremely pleased with the progress of mine! She set me up with an appointment that was less than a week from speaking to her.

Jazz’s hair extension class is the reason I am doing weaves! I knew how to do basic braids but never knew the in’s and outs of extensions, I am so thankful her education and patience. She makes you feel very confident and comfortable, which is important so that you can learn and be your very best. I recommend it to anyone that aspires to be a hair extension stylist, experience is absolutely not necessary.

Ok so I'm super late on posting a review for this Awesome Salon!!! But I'm doing it now so that's all that counts, right? I got my hair done by Jazz about a year ago and she slayed it!!!! She slayed it so much I didn't have time to post much or write the review because I was being pulled every which way for pictures and free drinks and uberX rides and hands all over my body. I had my hair done by Cree today. I am currently transitioning and don't know what to do with hair. I typically travel to LA to get my hair done and have been searching for a place in SD.

I recently got my hair done by an inexperienced hairstylist who completely ruined my 13x6 lace frontal. This was a true dilemma for me because I had something to do May 30th so I had to find someone within one weeks time to fix the mess. I found Hair by Jazz in the nick of time and she was able to fit me in before my target date.
Prior to my appointment, I had to schedule a consultation to see if she could even fix my botched hair which was 25$. A lot of people think this is a waste of time and money but I think its a great idea because with frontals

I have been a faithfully-happy client of Ms. Jazz, for about a little over a year now. She has professionally helped to keep track of the health, length and thickness of my natural hair, while also helping/providing advice/knowledge in maintaining has hair's longevity and style, whenever I visit. I've been getting my hair braided for my entire life - so I've seen and experienced it all! Braiders who work out of their homes (poorly cleaned), who don't honor appointment times, who suddenly change their prices after your hair is done, who stop and start so often that it adds hours to your appointment times, etc! Consequently, I've become super-picky about who and where I go to get my hair braided!

I never write reviews but I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! This was my first time going here and my experience was nothing short of amazing! I showed Jazz the hairstyle that I wanted and she did it to perfection! There was no wait time and she started on my hair as soon as I arrived.
