CMG is a mission oriented studio working to increase social and ecological wellbeing through artful design. CMG works on a wide range of initiatives, project scales and types, with the philosophy that all of our work accrues as the single overarching project of improving communities. With utility and aesthetics as drivers, CMG creates urban landscapes that promote ecological function and the democracy of public space.
Services
We provide collaborative design services in urban design, planning, landscape architecture, stormwater management and ecological and habitat design to a wide range of non-profit, public, institutional, and private clients. From site analysis to design services, we carry a project from conception through construction and post-occupancy.
Example text CMG has pioneered stormwater management design at all scales, from urban ltration systems such as Mint Plaza, to integrated master plans such as Bay Meadows and Treasure Island, to large scale regional watershed management projects such as Paci c Commons in Dublin, California. Our goal in each of these projects is to enrich the human environment and experience while protecting the natural ecology.
Since 2000, we've pursued our craft and our ideas in numerous and diverse places. From Cleveland to Seattle, to our home in the Bay Area, we've engaged with communities to develop sustainable, inclusive designs that connect people with each other and their environment. We turned a derelict alley into Mint Plaza, a pedestrian oasis at the heart of downtown San Francisco.
Community Design is the second of three salons in CMG's Equity in Landscape Architecture series, which convenes innovative and distinguished professionals from around the U.S. who are focused on inclusive design and processes, community co-creation, and increasing representation and equity in the public realm and in the profession.
CMG is always looking for and interested in hearing from thoughtful, collaborative, and motivated designers who would like to join our practice. Our mission is simple: to improve communities through design - whether within our own studio, our city (San Francisco), our region (Bay Area), or beyond. If you are interested in joining the conversation, please apply for one of our current open positions.
