The Sanctuary is a 30-Day Minimum, Residential, Alternative, Holistic Non 12 Step Recovery Center. The Sanctuary at Sedona is a holistic addiction recovery and trauma healing sanctuary nestled among the red rock hills outside Sedona, Arizona. Our non-12 Step addiction rehab center offers 30-day minimum programs that address all types of addictions, as well as anxiety, depression, and PTSD - treating each as their own diagnosis.
We are pioneers in addiction recovery. For over a decade, we were the first treatment center to use a holistic, integrative approach to heal the body, repair the brain and recover the soul. Holistic treatment is far more than incorporating meditation or yoga into a traditional treatment format. Within our beautiful and secluded 22-acre campus, we forgo the 12 Step model in favor of a comprehensive transformational therapeutic process.

When we founded our center over a decade ago, we were one of the first centers in the country to offer a holistic, non 12 step approach to addiction recovery. Since that time, we have worked with hundreds of clients from around the world. We have honed and refined our Integrative Addiction Recovery program, consistent with the scientific advancements that drive our work and provide the evidence to demonstrate the success of our approach.
The Sanctuary is a rehabilitation center for alcohol, drugs, mental health and co-occurring disorders. We are pioneers in the field of addiction recovery. For over a decade, we have used our holistic, non 12 step Integrative Addiction Recovery program to help hundreds of clients to be recovered from addiction.
Our experienced team combines practical skills, education, and experience with dedication, passion, and heart. All counselors provide service with clinical oversight by a behavioral health professional. Soul wounds, as The Sanctuary's founder Dean Taraborelli puts it, are "the granddaddy of all wounds."
Most addiction treatment programs are rooted in the classic 12-Step approach to recovery. Yet, what if you've tried this method only to encounter relapse after relapse? Or, what if you disagree with the tenets of 12-Step recovery? At The Sanctuary at Sedona, we are proud to offer addiction treatment without the 12 steps.
At The Sanctuary at Sedona, we understand what it's like to try all different ways of treating addiction. Whether it's inpatient rehab, outpatient clinics, AA or do-it-yourself approaches, you may feel like nothing works for you. We know what it's like to feel so desperately lost in the spiral of addiction that the only thing that matters is quitting.

I have a loved one who spent 30 days at the Sanctuary and loved it. This place is a life saver. But the real work starts after you leave the Sanctuary and return to everyday life.
The Sanctuary shows you the tools and teaches you how to use them. Its up to you to choose, every day and sometimes moment to moment, to apply what you have learned. Do this work and not only will your life change for the better but eventually it will no longer feel like work. Why, because you are a brand new whole body health person and your potential is endless.

Like all parents, I love my daughter. But after years of her holding grudges, blaming others for her problems, not being accountable and generally becoming a "hater", I didn't like her very much, and I did not enjoy spending time with her. I tried so many things to help her move beyond her rage. Over a period of 6 years I tried counseling, psychiatry, a mentor, church youth group, supplements, prescription drugs and a thousand heart to heart talks, all to no avail. I thought I was going to have to turn her loose and pray.
Then I discovered The Sanctuary. Their mind-body-spirit approach mixes traditional

I went to the Sanctuary in 2016. My experience there was wonderful and life changing. The mixture of holistic and scientific methods really resonated with me. Dean and Kelly, the founders, are both unbelievably dedicated to helping people recover from all kinds of addictions and traumas. Ruby and the rest of the staff add to the total healing experience. The wonderful thing about the Sanctuary is that you leave as a lifetime alumni and a helpful weekly alumni call which, I know, has strengthened my recovery. I highly recommend anyone suffering from addiction to experience what the Sanctuary has

The Sanctuary is a very special place for healing! If your desire is to find true solutions to your issues by going to the root of your problems, you will. This is a safe and loving place to find your truth, expand your awareness, learn incredible things about yourself, others, our unique world, connect with others who are knowledgeable, caring and supportive and let go of whatever is holding you down.
I will be forever grateful for my experiences at The Sanctuary. I am so thankful for the incredible people I met, both staff and clients; for the unlimited learnings and gifts that I have received

I was a client of the Sanctuary of Sedona two years ago dealing with both addiction and personal issues. The holistic approach to healing was not something I had ever heard of or even looked into prior to my time there yet I can tell you it works. I am clean and now happily living in Sedona after relocating from Pennsylvania. The difference between The Sanctuary and anywhere else; in my opinion, they love you enough until you can learn to love yourself. My life was saved at the Sanctuary. My kids have a father because of the Sanctuary and today my life is my own.

This place was the last stop for me. I had exhausted myself, my resources and my energy...trying and practically killing myself to find balance and wellness, before my stay at Sanctuary. The program they offer is a wondrous balance of cutting edge science and holistic healing. For me,it was my perfect remedy. I am now thriving not surviving thru life and I owe it to the practitioners, staff and my strong focused effort there. The food was amazing and it he healed my body and brain. The education is relatable and simple to follow there and in my life after leaving. The kindness and courage

I had a hard time believing such a place was possible to go to when I was at my worst--in the depths of depression is an understatement! I found a place with strong clinical practices, and, with shamanic-based Healing of mind and body?!?! And....they put into practice the teachings of Dr. Joe Dispenza and Gregg Braden/Heartmath?!?!
I was treated with respect from the very first moment I arrived at The Sanctuary and guided to my room! As I sat at the dinner table that night in circle with clients and staff, I was welcomed with food to nourish the mind, body, and Spirit. Sugar free, dairy free

As I walked on to the property over 4 years ago feeling broken and lost, I was immediately Home. The extraordinary staff, amazing amenities and facility were beyond what I could have ever imagined. For the first time in my life, I felt safe, loved, and truly at home. Dean, Kelley, and every member of the staff became my chosen family and saved my life. My soul was awakened.

Saved my life. I can spare you my sad story because we have all heard them before. Unlike other programs The Sanctuary focuses more on the good things you have in your life and teaches you to be truly grateful for them. After my time was over I can't imagine living my life like I did before. The treatment consists of a complete approach to the body, mind, soul, and spirit. The program truly worked for me. The staff is caring and professional. The experience was completely life changing. I learned a new way of thinking and living thus becoming an inspiration to all who know me.

The Sanctuary can change your life! There is an amazing spirit here, no doubt because of all of the very special people who work here. I found and/or rediscovered myself during my stay. These people genuinely care and are very healing souls. Not only are the surroundings beautiful, the energy is palpable and I was lucky enough to bring some of that home with me. I still use the tools I learned here. If you are struggling, they CAN help you. They use modern (and wonderfully ancient, spiritual) modalities to get to the root causes of pain. I love these folks!!

It's challenging to put into words how profoundly my time at The Sanctuary has assisted me in my healing process. When I chose The Sanctuary for their holistic approach to trauma and addiction treatment, it was my third time to opt for an inpatient setting for myself. In other words, not my first rodeo. I chose The Sanctuary specifically for two reasons: one- it was non-12 step. Two- their focus was at least dual in nature, addressing not only the addicted brain, but also the trauma underlying the behavior. From the moment that I cried watching some of the videos of prior clients to the moment

After eight different treatment centers I finally found the Sanctuary. This place was far different from the others and offered a sustainable solution and foundation from which to start a healthy new way of living. The staff is made up of humble, smart, experienced people who really practice what they preach. I found the Sanctuary to have real integrity in all it offers and to be the safest possible place that I know of to get to one's core. I will be forever grateful for my experience there.

I was at the Sanctuary at Sedona 3 years ago. I arrived in July of 2015 and was welcomed by the most amazing staff. I was looking for help from years of drug abuse and what I found was so much more. The staff helped me realize my own strength to help me win the battle of addiction but that is only the beginning. Since being a client at the Sanctuary I have created an amazing life here in Arizona, I have since married my true love (at the Sancturary), I started a new career, adopted two cats and a dog, traveled the world, and I now help others do the same. I had been to other rehabs and what sets

My experience at the Sanctuary began in June 2017. The initial contact with the office offsite staff was a bit rocky however once I arrived at the Sanctuary I felt safe and protected from the moment I stepped out of the car. This was definitely the lowest time in my life and was in such bad shape both physically and mentally that I truly felt no one could help me out of the hell I was living. I found out immediately just how wrong that was.
Every individual I was connected with for sessions or activities was compassionate, kind, understanding and most importantly patient. At no time was

I went to the Sanctuary at the lowest point in my life, I had tried and failed to get help with other mental health providers so my husband and I decided to try an inpatient facility. To be honest, we were misled from the start. We were led to believe there was a waiting list to be accepted for treatment, however during my stay there, it was common for there to be empty rooms. so this was untrue. The facility itself is extremely remote and difficult to access.
When I asked whether I could contact my husband, I was challenged by the director who asked if I wanted to get well. This attitude

Very disappointed in my stay there. The staff on the website was not the staff on-site, and those that were there were so busy with their own agendas--be they personal/spiritual growth, health, visiting family, teaching elsewhere, etc.--that we were left with too few staff or interim staff who didn't know the program. I think my biggest disappointment was that I had been promised before arriving that if it did not feel like it was the appropriate place for me they would help me find and get to a more appropriate facility. When I told them that I was not happy there, I was told to find another
