WHATEVER YOU DO, PLEASE DO NOT GO TO MONIQUE AND GET YOUR HAIR DONE. I went to get a relaxer done by her and I left with severally damaged hair that had to be cut off. When I first called her and inquired about gettind the relaxer done, I asked her had she ever done a relaxer before because this will be my first time. She told me that she has been doing them for years and she does one relaxer per day. I trusted her and I thought she knew what she was doing. So, I come in to get the relaxer and I ask for a wet set. I come in then she applies the relaxer on my hair. The entire time she's doing

I got my hair done by Monique and love it so much! She is so kind and works so quick. I loved the entire vibe of this salon. And even though I don't straighten my hair often I'll definitely be back just because of her. I've never seen my hair this straight ong. My daughter needed some serious hair maintenance. She is an athlete and typically wears drying styles by wetting her hair everyday. I was nervous as our regular stylist was not available and I wasn't sure about trusting someone else with her hair journey.

Absolutely amazing customer service. I was on a day trip from Nyc and I was looking around for a silk press. Found this amazing place and words cannot express how happy I am with the results of my hair. I have very thick hair so trying to put a comb through it is a mission and Monique was so gentle with my hair. Again very very happy every time I come to LA I’ll be here.

This location is about 45 minutes from me. Took both of my daughters, 5 and 9 to get a wash, press and trim. Monique was so good with both kids. Even with my oldest who's tender headed. They love their hair! I went back a week later for a conditioning treatment, style and trim. Definitely will be booking monthly appointments! Thanks Monique

I found Chantel on Yelp, read through all of the reviews and decided to give her a call. She walked me through some options with my daughter's hair and I was impressed that she would take the time to be so thorough with me. She is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Finding a hair stylist is so hard but after the great job Chantel did with my daughter I am looking forward to future appointments for both of us.

I came to Chantel after wearing twists and braids for a few months. I couldn't even get a comb through my hair it was so bad. It was so bad I just wanted to cut it off and start over again. I found her number on yelp and decided to give her a try. Thank God I did. When I left the hair salon my whole mood changed. My hair was so soft and I didn't have to cut it all off. She took her time with my hair and I was in and out quickly. Needless to say my hair looks amazing.

I called today (April 22, 2016) and Monique answered...to tell me that the salon is no longer open and she no longer does hair! I was shocked - given all of the positive reviews I've read here on Yelp - but she said she would pass my contact information along to a woman named Mimi who works in Westchester, who (per Monique) is very similar in services and professionalism to Monique and is where all of Monique's former and potential clients are referred. I am leaving five stars because, even though I have not met Monique or had my hair done by her, her customer service was wonderful and

I have been going to Monique for the past 3 years and I have never been disappointed. Monique is always on time, and really treats my hair well. I love the way she handles my hair and the way she always reminds me to take care of my hair. I work as a lifeguard in the summer so we're always trying to find a hairstyle that works well for me in the summer. This past summer she did an amazing job with my summer style. After the summer, my hair was amazing and did not break off. Monique is by far the best hair stylist I've had and I will continue to come to her for many more years to come

I went to see Monique after researching salons on yelp. I called to get an appointment and was able to get in right away. Monique styled my hair as desired and I was pleased with the overall service. I appreciate when people actually love what they do and are good at it. I will be going back often. It just feels good to be tended to right away and not have to sit hours.

What can I say. I usually hate going to the salon to get my hair done, as I hate waiting for HOURS! NOT HERE. Monique is a professional and her time management is impeccable. I love getting my hair pressed and curled by her, and I love the personal space of her salon. Very intimate and relaxing. I will continue to get my hair done by Monique, and when it is time to get my hair pressed and trimmed, she is the go to girl!

Let me say that like a lot of Black women, my hair has been a major event all of my memory. Long days and nights with pressing combs, perm kits, braids and HOURS in numerous hair salons. I've never looked fwd to getting my hair done. It was always a chore that I had to keep up. Damage, breakage, burns, scabs, and bouffants were all casualties that I as a Black girl learned to accept as a Black woman.
