I had not been here for many, many years. The area boasts perhaps the highest per capita of sushi spots on the Island, covering the small area of Commack Rd across Jericho Trpk to Elwood Rd, with no less than 7 places. Perhaps I got caught up with newer places. But I am so very glad I returned, as I was reminded about what really matters.
At this humble, yet nicely appointed spot, one can actually see and hear their dining partners. The service is excellent. The food is fantastic. The prices are a very good value. The portions are quite large. What else can you ask for?

I love the quiet atmosphere, service, and of course -the food. I generally go there a couple of times a month. The only meal I found slightly disappointing was the Shrimp Tempura, which is one of my favorites when it comes to Japanese cuisine.
My Japanese clients love to eat there, because it is "as good as the food they eat in Japan", they say.

The food has always been fantastic but the service has gone downhill and we will not go here again. Ordered at 5:40, said it would be available at 6:40, we arrived at 6:40 and after going in once and calling 3 times, got the food at 7:25.... Crazy!!!! They actually said they couldn't find the car and it was directly outside! Now the best part... we get home and are missing two of the main items!!!!! Done!

I've ordered several times this time disappointed almost 100 dollars worth of food and order was not correct. First they forgot to send sauce for cold noodles I know not tragedy but like how can you forget the sauce ????? Just plain cold noodle ugh could have cooked spaghetti myself. Also they sent some fried stuff that we didn't even order but the worst of it was when the guy answered and I told him I want to speak to manager he said and I quote too busy call back later. This is definitely not the end all be all sushi places. Better places exist

Obsessed with Kurofune Japanese Restaurant it was delicious.
We started off with the Flying Dragon Roll
It's deep-fried shrimp & cucumber inside with avocado on top, definitely a different roll.
Then we had the Shrimp Shumai which is a absolutely delicious dumpling.
I Highly recommend it!
The Teriyaki Salomon was perfectly cooked as requested & it comes with fresh broccoli & carrots
We ordered a Bento box with Korean Bulgogi (loved it )it comes with California roll, Shrimp & Veggie Tempura and Sushi. Everything was delicious

Kurofune has such good food but their estimate on time the food will be ready is often very far off. Tonight, we were told 30 mins for pickup. After waiting outside for 20 mins (total of 45 mins after ordering), I left and didn't get my order. They kept saying-you are up next but that never happened. Sorry, I am not waiting an hour for food when you said 30 mins.

I was reluctant to eat sushi during COVID19. But, my fried texted and sent me pics of her takeout order from Kurofune. I was craving sushi and I knew if she was ok eating sushi it would be fine. We ordered the wasabi shumai for an appetizer. It was very good. We also had the Rising Sun appetizer-excellent! We ordered 3 of the special rolls. The Vinny roll, the K1 and the Fireman roll. All were excellent and the fish was very fresh. Right now Kurofune is only doing takeout. It is done very efficiently. You can call them when you arrive to pick up your order and they come out and get your

We ordered curbside due to the Covid-19 pandemic bc my tastebuds are screaming for freedom! Tired of cooking at home! Tip: To beat the dinner rush... we ordered ahead and everything was prepared within 30 mins! That's calling it in, driving to the parking lot. Food was all prepared and given through the side door!
Everything was amazing.. just as it is when we dined here! I'm a huge fan! Their shrimp rolls are always excellent) my kid ate all of her California rolls! Love the chicken katsu! Miso soup is always great! My other party ate her entire tempura udon! I will be back soon!

This place has really good food and sushi. I've yet to be disappointed by any of their rice dishes and their sushi is always fresh and their spicy rolls have really nice heat.
They are not great at take out and take forever to prep everything, also their phone seems to only work half the time, and it never seems to alarm anyone there when they hear a complaint about their phones. For a solid week their number was swapped with a landscaper. It was weird.

Got a sushi place for you in in Commack, Kurofune.... totally amazing... appetizers #1 Korean Bulgogi- thinly sliced rib-eye marinated in signature Korean sauce, served on sizzling hot skillet...seriously delicious. App #2 Ika Maru- grilled whole squid with sweet soy sauce...frickin awesome...main round- Fireman Roll- spicy crunch tuna, jalapeno inside with tuna carpaccio on top w/ wasabi mayo. Vinny Roll- shrimp tempura inside w/ tuna, salmon, yellowtail & eel on top. Excellent food quality! I usually come here with my family for their lunch special. Everyday they have a different bentobox special. My favorites are the sushi over rice. It comes with soup & salad. The restaurant ambiance is really nice and extremely homey. They have two separate seating locations and meant to seat 2-8 people. Overall I do enjoy coming here and would recommend it to a friend.

Always a great meal! The Best Japanese Restaurant with a little bit of Korean thrown in. Easy to see right off of Commack Road close to Jericho Turnpike. A stand alone building with plenty of parking. A wheelchair accessible ramp and entrance. The staff is great because they treat you like family. Sit at the sushi bar for that one on one experience. Clean facilities. Public Restroom. Reasonably priced. Credit cards accepted. Highly Recommended!!!

I came here by myself one evening for dinner and needed a large space in order to get some work done. They agreeably accommodated me at a four-person table, for which I was very grateful.
Excellent prices and options on the menu. Professional staff and clean establishment. My food was beautifully plated and spaced out nicely through my visit. I definitely recommend this restaurant!

Met up with all friend for lunch here-would definitely go back! The specials all come with soup and salad which were great. They have the typical lunch specials but I noticed they had a bibimibap so I had to get it!
The flavors were AMAZING!!! The meat and the crispy rice at the bottom of the bowl were amazing. The satueed veggies were tasty as well. Ask for the spicy sauce on the side; well worth it! Can't wait to go back and try more things!!

Came in on a weekday night after a friend scouted this place out on Yelp. High reviews, but it didn't translate over very well when we visited. Perhaps we caught them on an off night since food was very slow coming out. Perhaps a bit understaffed behind the sushi bar/kitchen?
There was complimentary edamame, but once that was finished all of us were getting a bit frustrated and hungry. $23 for a salmon teriyaki dinner bento box? Seemed like the largest offering on the menu for my hunger, but it's debatable if it was worth it. Besides the typical bento box make up, it did come with salmon
