For a one time premium, you can have peace of mind that the home you purchase is protected from forged Deeds, unreleased Liens, undisclosed but recorded environmental Liens, just to name a few. Title Insurance is unique and insures the past, not the future. There are two types of Title Insurance. Standard and an Enhanced Policy, which First American Title Insurance Company calls an "Eagle Policy."
As a Realtor, my reputation is everything. My clients have put their trust in me with one of the biggest investments they will ever make, buying a home. My husband and I used this title company not once, but twice, for buying a new house and then a piece of land a year later. We used them the second time, because we were completely impressed with their professionalism and how on top of everything they were with our first transaction. They are a small company that serves many counties in our area, but they always took the time to answer any questions we had and made us feel like we were their only customers. Run as fast as you can from this company. My husband and I used this company as it was referred to us when we were purchasing our new home recently by the agent representing us. Terrible customer service, very slow to respond and terrible communication. They totally messed up the entire closing process from beginning to end. They even communicated to our lender the day before our scheduled Feb. 12 closing the wrong banking information which led us to wait for almost a half day just to get the deed recorded so we could get the keys. We had scheduled an U-Haul that day to take over some personal
