Do NOT trust their accounting procedures! We stayed at the Carpenter Street Hotel in early October, 2021. Today (the day on which we are writing this review) is 12/31/2021, and this very morning (12/31/2021), I received a notification of a charge made on my credit card for the Carpenter Street Hotel. We contacted our credit card provider (nearly a 30 minute phone call!) who confirmed that the charge was made on 10/4/2021, BUT the merchant did NOT actually put the charge through until now!?!?! We then phoned the hotel directly to find out how someone could be so negligent with credit card processing

Just returned from another great stay at Carpenter Street. Sarah and Chantel will take you where you need to be, and go way above and beyond the call of duty to get it done. The gals at the front desk were friendly and helpful, as always. It is a simple, clean, cheery home-away-from-home. I highly recommend it.

I booked a room in this hotel mid-October and everything was great. Although there was a slight inconvenience when they emailed me about a week ago, about how they were switching their card companies during the time of my stay back in October, now asking for that payment to be sent again. I would have wanted the front desk people to have at least informed me of this before “paying” for the room when I could have used cash and saved myself from this inconvenience.

Courteous staff. Clean. Good breakfast. But staff and guests weren't obeying the State mask mandate. Even the sign on the door said it was not needed if vaccinated. That changed well over a month before my visit. An entire hockey team were running around the hotel unmasked...a super spreader situation. I will not stay there again due to even the staff flouting the rules. Unsafe as well as improper. Makes you wonder what other safety rules they treat casually.

Based on existing reviews I definitely expected more. Upon entering the building there were several staff members sitting on a bench close to the entrance smoking. As it turns out this happens daily. The glass doors were dirty and as I walked in an old crumpled, torn, stained note was hanging from a box on the wall. I made the reservations for myself and two co-workers. I was embarrassed for my co-workers to see the state of the entrance so I pulled off the layers of old tape and removed the tattered, hanging note. We visit Springfield very frequently and this is the hotel that we always stay. The staff is amazing, as well as the breakfast. The rooms are clean and it is centrally located. Above all, Xavier is always… making sure that all the guests have a pleasant stay and a positive experience. Indeed, he is always walking the extra mile and he does it with a sincere smile. We highly recommend it.

Great to have somewhere close to stay while a loved one is in the hospital, except the fact that I forgot my brand new portable phone charge in the room. I called them and explained the situation and they claimed it had never been found. Sadly people aren’t always truthful. So, I hope who ever took it needed it more than I did
