A machine cannot duplicate what a hand can do. Most things are made by machines but we saw the importance of a superior product and that only comes if it is made by skilled human hands. All our mattresses, foundations, toppers, and pillows are placed together by hand by our skilled artisans. Churchill and Smith products were inspired in Europe and are handmade in America. They are designed and constructed with natural safe ingredients all while providing the optimal sleeping experience. No toxic glues, adhesives, plastics, or petroleum based synthetics go into any of our products. With over 27 years of extensive research and experience we also have the knowledge to provide a supportive and restorative nights sleep.

Latex is defined as: Any of several natural or synthetic colloidal polymers suspended in an aqueous solution. Basically: rubber particles in water. All mattress components and pillows from Talalay Global are 100% Talalay latex. We use a proprietary blend of natural and synthetic latex to provide the optimal balance of comfort and durability.

Our experience with Spencer's Mattress has been phenomenal. Great, attentive service from Jim and Spencer from the start, with lots of information to help narrow down the search for the perfect mattress. Beautiful serene store to walk through with big windows into their workshop where you can see all the materials that go into making the mattresses.
We purchased the Doctor's Care Luxury Plush in a King size. Absolutely amazing comfort. We like the technology and ability to change out the top layer if our firmness/plush preferences change in the future. We have had our mattress for about 2 months

Had a wonderful experience purchasing a mattress from Spencer. We had lower back pain and was sleeping hot at night with night sweats on our old memory foam mattress. We are so happy with our purchase and now sleeping without lower back pain and night sweats with the Churchill and Smith organic natural talalay mattress we purchased.

We recently bought a side-sleeping mattress and pillows for our beach house In Carpinteria. Hands down the best mattress and pillows we’ve ever slept on!! A world of difference from our top-of-the-line, mass-produced mattress in our primary residence in Encino — so much so, we are considering replacing it even though it’s fairly new!

We've had our natural latex Cal King for two years, and I still sigh with pleasure when I fall into bed. We already had a 3-inch quilted foam topper, and it makes for a pillowy feel with great support underneath. It's our second natural latex mattress and the first one lasted for 20 years. So that really cuts the long-term price compared to bedsprings. Bonus: Spencer didn't even cringe at our multiple visits before making a decision.

The only place I'd go to buy a mattress. Service is great, they encourage you to spend as much time as you like trying each mattress. They know it is an important decision; you will be sleeping on it every day! I've bought 2 mattresses from here. They make many mattresses themselves and the owner will show you the machines and tools in the back if you want. He seems to enjoy nerding over it all. I did too actually. ;)

I bought a bed by phone from the east coast so it would be there when we arrived. The BEST customer service ever. Spencer helped me select the right bed and did everything to make the delivery easy. Then, when we moved to our new apartment this weekend and had trouble getting the frame into the new apartment, we called Spencer's to see if they could help. They were so kind and offered several useful tips. I highly recommend Spencer's!!
