Our family story is about two families - one named McConnell and the other Wackman - that found their way to Elk Grove, California. The 5th generation from these founding families planted wine grapes in 1993 and began making wine on this historic property in 2002 for you to enjoy. The following is a brief history about our ancestors.
Here at McConnell Estates Winery, we have over 700 acres with 15 different varieties of grapes. All of our wines are estate grown and produced, with an emphasis on remaining true to varietal characteristics. Thoroughly enjoyed myself here this weekend. Service was excellent and the wine was fantastic. I enjoyed the sangria, its a little different than typical sangria- I can't put my finger on what it is but it's still really good regardless. We also had the strawberry and raspberry sparkling wines which were super tasty! Not to sweet but flavorful. We had the meat and cheese tray- nothing fancy about it- you have to assemble yourself and the cheese is whole.

Bottomless mimosas and we didn't have a reservation. They were super accommodating and gave us a table for 2 hours. Be sure to call ahead for reservations. The grounds are beautiful and the staff is fabulous. This was our first time visiting and we for sure will return again soon (with reservations 🤪).

Nice place very close to Sacramento. The wines are delicious we love the 6Gen Zin. It's a late harvest so slightly sweet and bold. The place is nice and the have plenty of events going on. There's live music every Friday and many other events. The wine club offers reasonable prices and good wine pick up party.
