Services
Psychiatric Associates of West Michigan, PLC was formed in 1997 by our psychiatrists. We had been frustrated in various ways by the organizations in which we had worked. We came together to develop a group that focuses on highly competent and compassionate psychiatric care for the West Michigan area.

I was initially incredibly impressed with this office and it’s staff. Even after I was incorrectly billed, I wrote it off as just one of those things that happens in a busy office, requested that the bill be resubmitted to insurance, and moved on. Then I increasingly had difficulty scheduling appointments—I work third shift as a nurse and, when I attempted to explain this to the staff and that a late afternoon appointment works best, she attempted to schedule me for a 1pm appointment which I declined since, as I don’t even get home from work until after 9am, I would still be asleep. She sighed

The first thing I want to say is about their cancellation policy. They charge you the ENTIRE cost of an appointment if you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment. If you have any other life obligations and cannot make this office your #1 priority, I suggest you find a different office that may care.
The next issue I had was with Dr. Mulder. I went to him for a diagnosis and to start medications. The first appointment wasn't bad, kind of awkward, but not terrible. The next few appointments literally lasted less than 5 minutes. I expressed concerns with the medications that he

There are logistical and business issues, from unreturned calls to scheduling problems to billing problems (and always it seems at the client's expense), which just complete the picture of what these folks are about, but the core problem is the core of the practice - the psychiatrists.
These are two doctors that have drunk the "chemical imbalance and I know all" coolaid, or rather gulped it without a sniff. They don't have a clue. They will, however, progressively try to bully you or threaten you into "complying" with their recommendations, or just drop you outright. I know two others that have

First impression on seeing the building they're only out for money this thought was reforced lqter after dealing with the front office staff. Here's what happened, I saw Dr. Mulder for a diagnosis which he to my understanding was correct about. But after making several attempts to call his office to cancel multiple scheduled appointments I was left talking to their answering machine and leaving a message after which I thought all was good. Two weeks later I received at letter saying I missed an appointment and now owed then money for missing said appointment. This occurred two more times, after

I love PAWM. Dr. Fox is wonderful. I have always had a hard time trusting doctors, especially psych doctors, but Dr. Fox has earned my trust and respect. He listens and understands, and is very empathetic. He is non-judgemental and i truly feel like he cares about his patients. I don't care that i have to drive an hour every 3-4 months to see him, because he is worth it. I always pick up a few extra business cards to refer him to friends and family that are looking for a great psychiatrist, because i truly believe he is great. Staff is also welcoming and kind, always a pleasure dealing with them

This practice was incredibly unprofessional. I was prescribed medication, and the prescription was sent to the wrong pharmacy. When I called Dr. Mulder's office (after attempting to pick up my medication from the requested pharmacy, and being told a prescription was not sent) I was told that it had been sent to a different pharmacy. Upon going to that pharmacy, I was told by that pharmacy that they had not received the script either but that they did have record that the script had been sent to another pharmacy of that same chain, all the way across town.
After 2 months and multiple visits, I
