Veritas Integrated Psychiatric Care was created to provide excellence in mental health by addressing the whole person: MIND, BODY, and SPIRIT. Unlike the current medical model with its focus on symptom management, Veritas is distinctive in its approach by seeking out the root causes of the symptoms: discerning whether they are physical, neurological, psychological, psychiatric, medication, illegal drug-related, or spiritual in nature---and treating them appropriately.
He also gave us intellect to be able to make "witty inventions" for our comfort (clothes, glasses, and medications, to name a few), for our enjoyment (music, fine arts, and fishing rods), or for our self-destruction (nerve gas, atomic, and nuclear bombs).God gave each of us a free will to choose to do what is right or wrong.

Names are very significant. Parents painstakingly pick a name for their baby that is "just right." It was no different for me when I selected the name Veritas Integrated Psychiatric Care for my practice. Veritas is the Latin word for Truth. Truth is central to the Christian faith and to my practice.
Many Christians do not feel comfortable getting help for emotional issues from a "secular" doctor because they do not share the same worldview. As a Christian Psychiatrist, I offer patients mental health care from a biblical perspective. Many of my patients have been blessed when I prayed with them and addressed issues from a practical biblical standpoint.
Before I paint my vision of what we have to offer, I would like to review some shortcomings in the current mental health system that I hope to address through my practice. Many patients have prescribed too many medications and at higher doses, than what's needed. When symptoms are controlled, the dose may be so high that it interferes with one's quality of life or ability to function.
The year 2012 was pivotal in starting my private practice. Within one week that February I received phone calls from families in Florida, Colorado, and Iowa who were looking for a Christian psychiatrist who addresses spiritual issues in clinical practice. This prompted me to leave the hospital and start Veritas Psychiatry, to meet this need for the Christian community.
As a Veteran who served in the U.S. Navy, I would feel honored to be able to help you with your mental health needs. Going on deployment and coming back can be very stressful for the active duty member and the family, as they adjust to life with or without dad or mom.
Some come home from deployment having suffered physical or emotional trauma resulting in depression, and fears and anxieties, commonly known as PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder).People with Traumatic Brain Injuries may experience changes in mood, personality, and cognition, that appear like Bipolar Disorder, but were caused by the trauma to the Frontal and Prefrontal Cortex of your brain.

WOW is all I can say!!! I have been beyond amazed at Dr. Vrielink and his staff. Dr V is a kind, patient and extremely competent psychiatric provider, who unconditionally cared for me at one of the most vulnerable times in my life not only from a mental health perspective but also as an imperfect being, longing for a better relationship with my God. This dualistic model has made me thrive. Also, he has some of the most amazing staff in his practice. From the time you walk in they are smiling to greet you, and get you checked in. Working to pay for the services is quick and easy, and are very flexible

An absolute nut who should have his medical license revoked. Spent most of the session telling me that I was a bad Christian, how Jesus will return in our lifetimes, how he lost his job with the Navy because he was preaching to patients, and more oversharing of his personal life that was completely uncalled for during a psychiatry appointment. He almost started crying about his ex-wife during the appointment claiming she only cared about his money. Beyond unprofessional and really un-Christian to attack a patient's faith and mental health he is supposed to be helping.

Dr. V is one of a kind! If you want a Doctor that looks at you as a person (mind, body and spirit) not just a patient, he is the doctor you are looking for. He does not just prescribe medicine, without getting to the root of the issue. A lot of psychiatrists just want to prescribe a medicine to mask the issue. As a patient I feel protected and safe. He has a very big, tender heart, and yet he has a military background. He listens to you. And yet he asks tough questions. He has experienced things in his own personal life, which gives him the ability to relate to patients who may have also experienced

My husband has been seeing Dr. Jeffery Vrielink for 3 years dealing with Type 2 Bipolar
disorder (much harder to treat then normal bipolar 1). He values and listens carefully to Patient and Family input and adjust medications accordingly to needs. He is very responsive to emergency calls. His objective is to cure you versus just treating symptoms. We have been extremely pleased with his patient client interaction not only being our doctor/counselor but also being a friend. We appreciate the fact that he is a Christian and values our Deep Love for our Faith! He takes our faith into consideration

I appreciate Dr. Vrielink's appraoch to psychatriatry. I have met other psychatrists and nurse practioners who were not willing to listen. Dr V listens to my concerns and while we talk about meds he offers some counseling. His counseling during my med reviews has helped me grow in my profession as a teacher. I have found his integration with Christianity and psychatriaty to be beneficial. Before when I saw other physicans, even if the meds seemed to be right, the lack of counseling left me hopeless. Dr. V acts like a mentor in which he listens to my concerns, he's empathetic and he helps me problem

In 2020 Because of Covid and our immediate "No choice" anti social behavior, I wanted to find a veteran Psychiatrist who has had a variety of life experiences to deal with my sadness and feeling of loss. I started my search by going to Veritas Integrated Psychiatric Care Pllc's website in Grand Rapids, and was very pleased to see that this practice was very thorough in explaining what Dr. Jeffery Vrielink's offers and walked in to my 1st appointment confident that this psychiatrist had a good system and was a good person. I wasn't disappointed! Now after 6 months of sessions, He has already solved

Dr V has a very unique approach to psychiatry. My experience has been pretty amazing. He takes time to listen to what is going on with me presently as well as the past. He is also very knowledgable about medications. Couple these two traits together and he has been very successful in prescribing me medication that best address my symptoms. He is very direct and holds me accountable which I appreciate. The staff is genuinely helpful and nice. They are always pleasant and make you feel like you matter. This office is unlike any psychiatry office I’ve ever been to in the past. All around you can

Friendly staff, but can't say the same about Dr. Vrielink. During my husband's last appointment he spent most of the time berating him instead of respectfully explaining a situation that he was unaware of. He was there for severe anxiety, and instead he ended up feeling worse because of how he was treated. Dr. Vrielink constantly interrupts you and has a combative, unprofessional attitude (not at all how you should talk to those with mental disabilities!). He treated my husband like a number, not a person.
I'd also like to add that in the MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC, no visible employees and Dr. Vrielink

Dr. Vrielink is an excellent doctor. He is compassionate and truly cares about the well being of his patients, which is evident in the time that he takes to get know you and to listen to you during your office visit. Having a doctor who utilizes your feedback instead of pushing multiple prescriptions in your hand while pushing you out the door has been a wonderfully new experience. Yes, Dr. Vrielink has a strong faith in God, but he does not push it onto you. As someone who shares faith in God, it is great to have a doctor that has encouraged that faith for healing. I have never been to a doctor

I highly recommend Dr. Vrielink. He gives every patient personal attention and his time. Dr. V also takes the patient's entire lifestyle and circumstances into consideration when developing a comprehensive treatment plan. Finally, he is brilliant in finding and combining the correct medications to maintain good mental health and living a balanced, productive life. I have experience in being treated by mental health professionals and he has provided the most excellent care-above all others. (It seems that some reviewers do not understand his personality. Do not judge the quality of his care by his
