Our Standard American Diet (also known as S.A.D.) is loaded with toxins, refined sugars and high fructose corn syrup, man-made fats, and artificial additives. The long term abuse of this type of eating plan has caused hormone receptors to burn-out leading to a cascade of hormonal imbalances in our bodies.
Hormones are chemical messengers that control multiple functions throughout the body. Too much or too little of a hormone will cause malfunction in many of the body's pathways. When under stress, your stress hormones (adrenal function) will increase, and whether it's external or internal stress, your body produces more cortisol.
What would it be like to wake up refreshed, healthy, and energized to tackle the day ahead? What kind of energy do you need to make it through a day without the crutch of caffeine? Are you on the energy roller-coaster? Maybe hitting a plateau mid-morning or after lunch? A decrease in immune function, testosterone and HGH (human growth hormone) is frequently seen as well.
