The Genesee Yacht Club (GYC) was established to encourage yachting and sailing, to further the arts and sciences pertaining to seamanship, piloting, and navigation, and to provide and maintain suitable clubhouse and dockage facilities for use of the members by cooperative effort at minimum expense.
Since 1934 our members have contributed their time and talents to the construction and maintenance of our facilities, and the organization of our race programs, cruising program, social events, and every other aspect of the club. Nothing happens without it! Working and socializing with other members builds friendships and instills satisfaction in our accomplishments while keeping our costs under control.

Please contact us by phone (585) 266-9796, Email gycreciprocals@geneseeyc.org, VHF-16, or VHF-71; if nobody answers we suggest that you pull into the service slip and speak to someone on the property. Genesee Yacht Club, on the east side of the Genesee River, north of the O'Rorke Bridge, can accommodate boats from reciprocating clubs in vacant members' slips.
As you may expect, we have strict social distancing protocols in place and we expect our guests to abide by those policies. The clubhouse is mostly off-limits, though our restrooms are open. Our property has been significantly upgraded this spring including new sod that was installed late May. Power and water is being updated and some docks may not have these services until later in June.
Genesee Yacht Club has a strong commitment and enthusiasm for Racing. We are known for our competitive Tuesday Night and Weekend Club Racing. Weekend Racing consists of Long Distance and Buoy Series races. We also facilitate Informal & informative "Pizza Races" where all can learn the basics of racing or hone racing skills without the pressure of competitive racing.
