Papa Jay's Pizzeria is a locally owned restaurant that has been open since 2001. We focus on fast service and a quality product, also we have started to offer catering for special events and family gatherings. We offer delivery to Dover, Somersworth, Madbury, and Rollinsford and catering to many other surrounding towns.
We are located downtown Dover between Red shoe barn and the Dover Fire station, next to the railroad trestle. Some of our specialties are our steak tip sub that is hand cut with the top of the line steak, our fresh wings mixed with Sweet Baby Ray's sauces and our famous Italian sub with bread, meats and sliced veggies.

Ordered online. With delivery and tip it just about $28.00 for an extra large mushroom pizza. Which by the way is not "extra" large in any form, a smaller large if anything. Ordered at 4:08 and was delivered by 5:15. We only live approximately a mile and a half away. Pizza it's self was about a 6.

.***Now (12/20/21) Ordered a small cheese pizza, it was burnt, and I work in the service industry and try not to call but being a frequent customer I called. After speaking to the MOD sent out another one free of charge. My son (who is 9) had a slice and got food poisoning and so did I. Ive been a loyal customer and never experienced food poisoning from here, being in the food industry Im very wary.

Just because a place takes a little bit more time doesn’t mean it isn’t worth it, Papa Jays is the only place i’ve ordered from that delivers pretty much everywhere, considering i live in a neighborhood that is black listed almost everywhere, papa jays is always willing to come out, drivers are always friendly, food is always delicious. if i could put 6/5 stars i would!

Absolutely knocked it out of the park with their heart attack steak bomb, curley fries, Italian sub and Buffalo fingers. Everything was so delicious and even the fries made it to my house hot (do you understand how Dangerous it is to order delivery fries!!) It was my second experience with papa Jay's, but after last weekends experience, I needed to let people know

I arrive at Papa Jays 5 minutes after placing my order. It’s not ready which makes sense I live pretty close so I got there quickly. An employee verify my order and says it should be about 7 minutes. Sounds Great! 15 minutes later another employee asks what I am waiting for. At this time the employee starts making my order. Unprofessional & Organized. Sad because they have “decent” food.

Subs and pizza are pretty good. Pasta is over priced for jarred sauce you can by yourself for cheaper and the noodles are overcooked. Salads are also not worth the price. Beyond that I'm really disappointed, I live right next to Papa Jays and I heard the employees mocking customers. I understand the service industry is frustrating, I work in it. However loudly disrespecting the people who pay you, who were not in anyway rude or unreasonable towards you is just really shameful. You were so loud that people who live nearby could hear you...think about that! Wait til you get home if you need

They messed up our order.. ONCE and yet still fixed it. Really, it's rare that you meet a place that is willing to keep their customers to the point where they are willing to admit they're wrong, but also fix their wrongs. Wait, am I talking about my wants and needs in a relationship? Regardless, give this place a try, tip them well and enjoy your food!

I ordered multiple things from here as it was my first time ever eating so I wanted a wide variety of things. The medium pizza was the size of a small. They don't listen to instruction, they really just do whatever they want with your order. The fries were ok. But the worst thing was the buffalo wings they weren't cooked, I took one bite into them and it felt and tasted like they were defrosted, microwaved and had buffalo sauce thrown on to them. So I will not be ordering from here ever again and would not recommend it.

I just recently purchased a home in Dover Nh and as a result i have received many flyers and coupons in the mail welcoming me to the neighborhood. The most exciting of these, by far, was a coupon for a free medium 1 topping pizza from Papa Jays!
Right off the bat i was impressed that a local business was offering me a free pizza, i got a free pizza flyer for little Cesar's too but since their a HUGE corporation it didn't impress me the way Papa Jays did!

This is a good hard pass for me for the future. It was a really rainy stormy night and the only other delivery I knew about was Domino's (which is what I probably should have gone with). I liked that I could order it online but that's where it ends. This was the most flavorless pizza I have ever had. Dull. Lifeless. Zero seasoning or taste. With delivery and tip it was $23 and the biggest waste of money.

Never ordered from here before the guy was fairly new good costimer service skills but when i recieved my food he forgot too put my mushrooms on my sandwich and i paid for extra..knowing o5t was the end of the night i wasnt gonna send it back. Papa Jays is perfect for a lazy day you don't want to cook. They have fast delivery, and their delivery man listened to my detailed instructions to "keep staying awesome," as he reminded me when he dropped our food off.
I got two salads, a steak tip and a chef. I loved how tender the steak was, and it was already chopped to bite size pieces. The meat tasted fresh and the veggies were all crisp. Definitely should have grabbed another dressing, but that is my bad. :)
We had cheeseburgers there about a month ago that weren't anything spectacular, but very tasty and messy -

I grew up in the NYC-area, so my pizza standards are fairly high. I am aware of this, so when a friend offers me a weird-looking slice from some local place I know it is going to probably be bad....
I took one bite and was done. Okay, stuff can still be "not tasting like pizza at all" and still taste like food. This is awful! Crust is dry and tastes like cardboard, sauce is bitter, but sugary and overcooked. Cheese tastes like chopped up American cheese or something.
