Most of us have only been poked with needles when we go to the doctor for a shot, and most of us know that it hurts, so when we add doctor + needle, our answer is "No way." Well, here's the good news - the average hypodermic needle that they shoot you with at the doctors is ten times bigger than an average acupuncture needle.
I am Julie Crist, licensed and nationally board certified acupuncturist. I graduated from Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Seattle in 1996 with a Master's degree in Chinese Medicine. I graduated from The Evergreen State College with a Bachelor's degree in journalism, and I write occasional articles for Acupuncture Today, the nation's largest acupuncture journal.
Appointments are available at Acuplanet Monday through Wednesday from 10 to 6, and Thursday from 8 to 4. First appointments are 1 1/2 hours long and cost $85. After that, you can use the Monday/Wednesday acupuncture-only clinic, on a sliding fee of $35 - 50 (at your discretion), or take the Intensive Care appointments, generally Tuesday/Thursdays, but could be any day if based an availability, for $60.

Who's going to make money off of you not eating?, Is fasting as fun as playing games like "count calories" or "eat aardvark livers" or "wear a pedometer?" Probably not.
