Services
Dr. Schlund and Dr. McKanna are available to treat foot and ankle ailments such as diabetic foot care, ingrown toenails, fungal toenails, warts and painful calluses. Our practice specializes in general foot care. Please call (630) 773-2478 for an appointment. Ankle sprains are very common injuries with more than 3 million suffered each year in the US.
Dr. Schlund received her undergraduate education at the University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL and attended medical school at Dr. William Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, IL. After graduating in 1987, she completed two residencies at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Marion and Fort Wayne, Indianapolis and Grissom Air Force Base in Indiana.

Appointments available for all hours below. Please call in advance for an appointment to ensure we are in the office. If, for any reason, you cannot keep a scheduled appointment or will be delayed, please call as soon as possible.
During the first visit, we make sure to obtain important background information, like your medical history, and give you time to get to know your doctor. We accept most insurances. List of current prescriptions and/or over-the-counter medication, including dose and frequency. You are responsible for co-payments or charges that are not covered by your insurance.
This works well for dry cracked skin, callouses, corns, and as part of a treatment for athletes foot. For those with severe dry cracked skin and callouses. This is a maximum strength urea, which helps soften and thin out the painful areas on your feet. Excellent topical steroid with urea cream. This is typically used in conjunction with a topica anti-fungal for those severe cases of athletes foot.

I was treated by the wonderful facility , meant to post a review sooner but had just recovered from surgery . Long story short …. Broke a bone in my foot back in august and was hoping it would heal on its own as some others may feel too. Unfortunately, it did not heal well and actually worsened: symptoms/ pain as time went on . I decided I needed to see a podiatrist to help / hopefully resolve the situation and no longer just deal w it , also ongoing pain .

I have been going to Itasca Foot & Ankle for over 10 years for a chronic ankle condition. Every time I am greeted by a friendly staff and excellent care. Dr. Schlund takes the time to evaluate, listen, and explain in a friendly, comfortable environment. She understands me and how to treat my issues. Also I appreciate her conservative approach to treatment.
I am excited that Dr. Schlund added Dr. McKanna to her practice. They are an excellent team! During Covid I was sent to the hospital for admission and emergency surgery. My surgery was delayed 30 minutes. Dr. McKanna came to the empty waiting

Dr. McKanna and Dr. Schlund are amazing podiatrists/surgeons and are top notch caring people. Both of them make me always feel at ease at my appointments and surgeries. Their office staff is excellent and is always there to answer my questions. I had lapiplasty on both of my feet. Whenever I had any type of pre-or post up questions, they always responded right away. I wouldn’t have trusted any other doctor with my feet.

Outstanding physician! Dr. Schlund got me in right away and took care of my severely infected ingrown toenail. I found her to be meticulous in her work and quite personable. It was clear she cared about me as a person in addition to my feet! More physicians should wiling to spend time with their patients. I give Dr. Schlund two thumbs up!

I absolutely adore Dr. Schlund!! She put me at absolute ease! Her front desk receptionist was an absolute pleasure. From our chat on the phone to greeting me, with a big smile upon entering the practice!

I had a very bad interaction a while ago with Dr. Schlund. I found her to be very unprofessional and rude in how she treated me.
I was referred here by my primary doctor for a lump on my foot. She looked at it, said it was a cyst, and referred me to get it imaged before she removed it to avoid complications. She said she would look at the report and let me know if there was any issues before I came in for my follow up appointment.
The imaging clinic discovered that it was not a cyst at all.
Three weeks later when I returned to the office Dr. Schlund met me in the room and said she'd take care

I have been going to Dr. Schlund for the past 2 years to find the source of foot pain after being recommended by my father in law. She is took her time to explore and explain, while injecting humor and care, every possible issue and outcome. We agreed not to do anything until absolutely sure of the reason for the pain. Started with the least invasive treatment.

I called this place and got in same day! Great staff very attentive. I gotta say comming in I was EXTREMLY NERVOUS. The nurse assured me the dr is amazing at what she does and she’s been doing this for 30 years. The Dr came in and explained the procedure to me and what to expect for the next couple of days. She has a great sense of humor and walked me through the whole thing. Honestly, it wasn’t as bad as i thought it would be! Highly recommend this place!
