The Hook & Ladder Theater & Lounge
The METRO Blue Line offers fast, quiet light-rail service between downtown Minneapolis and Mall of America. Dozens of bus routes connect with the train at the Lake St/Midtown station, making the Hook and Ladder very accessible thru Metro Transit. You'll probably use your smart phone for directions, but this is what to expect when you get here.

We have a small lot to the North & South of the venue available for parking. We also encourage street parking to the West on Snelling Ave. A casual walk through the 3rd Precinct driveway and you will arrive at the venue. The Hook & Ladder Theater has a parking lot on the south side of the firehouse.

Soulful songwriting with a nod to the past and a head in the clouds. Friend Dog is the creative project of Vinnie Donatelle, fiddle player and vocalist of The Last Revel, that seeks to expand on prior efforts and find some new things. Friend Dog explores balance, the fleeting, the unspoken and the hopeful.
The Hook & Ladder Theater is proudly committed to fostering an environment in which all are treated with dignity and respect, free from discrimination and harassment of any kind. Everyone who enters The Hook should be safe from harm. The Hook has also retained the services of Squeerity and together we reserve the right to deny any person who violates our Hook Code of Conduct the privilege of performing at or attending FPAC produced events.
The global reach of the death of George Floyd stunned us all. It should not have. Systemic racism knows no national boundaries and does not restrict itself to one group or another. It exists, unfortunately, everywhere, sometimes in disguise and sometimes, appallingly, in plain sight. Let's make this change now.
The Hook and Ladder Theater, Lounge, and Mission Room are ADA compliant. In addition to wide doorways, accessible restrooms and convenient, designated parking, we offer a range of seating and standing options, please locate a staff person for assistance. To request American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation or Voice Captioning, please contact us with at least one week's notice.

Easy sight lines for bands, great sound, usually room to dance a little but the ethos of the folks there is the best part of The Hook!

Very left-leaning arts group. Bring your mask and proof of vaccination (Mask required inside regardless of vax status.) Outdoor concert seating area is sparse but the sound is good.

Intimate atmosphere. Appreciate that they are asking for proof of vaccination and masks. Absolutely loved the show ❤ introduced to The Jorgensens and Jill Solube!

Got to see Zeppo in the outdoor "under the tent" setting. It was a really cool set up, but more sound deadening panels are needed on the opposite building wall as the sound was bouncing off that and creating a weird dynamic.. We moved out from under the tent to the open area in back and the sound was much better.

My first time here since before the pandemic was to see Slim Stone, and it was awesome. A couple days later, Liquor Beats Winter which blew me away. Shows are happening outside in what used to be a parking lot. There's a massive tent so shows can happen rain or shine I imagine. It still sounds great. There's a nice sitting area in back by the fence and usually a couple food trucks around. H&L has always been been a good place to see great music!

The staff were so nice to me. Usually I get eye rolls and grumbles when I order a tonic and lime. I know I'm not the only sober person at events... But the bartenders didn't treat me as such.

By far, my favorite venue to see a show. I’d go hear anything they were putting on. The staff is great. Historic location.

Great venue for live music. Marvelous staff with very reasonably priced tickets. Awesome sound. Please find a show you'd enjoy and make an appearance. Support local music venues or they can't stay viable.

Nice place to catch a show, comfortable and good sound. Small bar but somehow it was still easy to get beers even when busy. No tap beers or liquor though.
