Our Reiki school has been teaching since 2003. Here you will find a variety of classes in Reiki, Meditation, Crystals, Angels, Chakras, Light/Color, Sound Healing, Pendulums, Dowsing, Kundalini Reiki, Seichim, Johrei, Certified Advanced Healer in Energy Therapies and more. At the Center we feel one of the greatest elements of any teaching is the human element.
That is why we only teach our classes in person and use qualified teachers with many years of experience. Our Center offers private, discreet treatments in a variety of modalities. Barbara Carlton, the Center's founder, is a member of the International Center for Reiki Training. She teaches to International standards.

Hope to see you again soon- as I'm interested in some of the topics you teach and also the reiki support group / healing circle. I remember my first encounter with Reiki had all the trappings of New Age "get wholly-holy fast" affair: it was a free event offered to all members of NY Health & Racquet Club.
Sheila Hand was one of the early pioneers in healing and teaching here in the Rochester area. Sadly, she died far too young. Barbara was greatly impressed by her work. A large part of Sheila's personal library was donated to the Center. The library bears her name because Barbara feels Sheila deserves to be remembered in the community.
Two healing energies emerged in Japan during the first quarter of the twentieth century: Reiki and Johrei. Both are healing energies, but the two are completely different in lineage, frequency, purpose, use, and method of training. As part of its ongoing commitment to lineage, to healing, and to earth healing in the eclectic mode.
Reiki is a method of hands on healing, developed in Japan during the early 1900s by Dr Mikao Usui. He passed his knowledge on to others, and in the 1970s a Japanese American lady - Mrs Hawayo Takata - brought Reiki to the West. Loosely translated Reiki is 'universal energy' which is transferred through the practitioner's hands to the client.
