Martha is my new favorite person! I had a meltdown yesterday due to a weird random message from SSD in which they denied my claim for “non-medical” reasons. Eight days after I placed my application in the dropbox in their lobby!
Martha talked me off the ledge, had me take a few deep breaths, and told me everything would be okay. She asked questions and really listened to my answers. Then she explained exactly what I needed to do to get answers from SSD. She told me who to call, what to say to them, what questions to ask, and how to keep a record of my interactions with them. I had applied for Social Security Disability and had been initially turned down. Mr. Fahey took my case and spent an inordinate amount going over my case, advising me on what to expect and so on. Today I had a hearing before a Judge in Moreno Valley. Mr. Fahey had warned me that this judge could be very strict and difficult and that I needed to be prepared.
