The best diesel smog experience I've had since I've owned my rig. Staff were really friendly, very professional and got the job done quickly. Friday morning was ideal for not having to wait in line as there was only 1 truck ahead of my when I arrived. Waiting area was clean, had some comfy chairs and decent reading material if you don't want to be glued to your phone while you wait.

Incredible, made appointment, came to shop a week later, car was in the garage before paperwork was done. Called when part was needed apologized had to keep overnight. Called at 10:00 it was done. I have tried several independents and 2 dealers and they all were crooks and lies about it. These guys kept estimated price, kept me informed, and completed work as fast as possible. I will go to pro 1 every time I need work on my cars!

I just picked up my 2010 GMC 2500 and had a very large bill to pay - I am extremely glad I brought my truck to Pro 1. This was a massive electrical/communication/module failure problem and Pro 1 kept me informed through parts delays they had nothing to do with, extremely tedious diagnostic steps, and costs as the project went on. This was my first time at Pro 1 Automotive and was impressed. Great service. Paul and Rachael were both very professional and accommodating. They allowed me to leave my truck there overnight as I hate late afternoon traffic since retiring. And I really appreciated that. They did an oil change and diesel smog and topped off the def. The bill was reasonable and I feel I got what I paid for. Thanks guys for a great experience.

This is a dog friendly business, I really enjoyed a nice furry fellow named Georgio while waiting for my diesel smog. Staff was great and wait times were short. I’m going to make an appointment to come back for a brake check because I like the service here.

Honest. Dependable. Professional. I've had service done on two of my vehicles a few times over the last two years. Two major and a few maintenance services. Every time was a great experience. My fuel line broke when I was driving through Reno. I was disabled 6 hours from home. I looked up diesel mechanics, and Pro 1 was third down due to my location. I called the first two and they could not help me. I spoke to Paul at Pro 1, and he said, "bring it in, we will get you back on the road. I had it towed and it was too late to start the job. Paul said that they'd have it done by 1-2pm the next day as it would be a 4 hour job. The next morning at 11am, Paul called and said it was done. They must have started first thing in the morning. I regret my decision to patronize PRO1 automotive. The overabundant PRO1 radio commercials sound great, they are also totally hollow. I was lied to, set up to be overcharged and almost the victim of a PRO1 bait and switch. When questioned, the demenor of these people changes real quick from phony nice to confrontational and defensive. I took my business somewhere else and was treated well and paid significantly less than PRO1's overinflated prices.

First 3 automotive service places I went to were busy: "you need an appointment," and really didn't seem to want my business. I pulled into Pro 1 and saw the same busy scene, every car garage bay filled. But Giancarlo said he'd get right on it! They move fast & do a lot here, even diesel smog checks which only a handful of Reno places do. And an automotive service waiting room my own sweet mother would design...gourmet coffee, candies, comfortable furniture, TV WiFi and great AC. as good as it gets.

Excellent experience. The staff was courteous and professional and even checked with the waiting customers to make sure they were comfortable and had water. Even though the shop was busy they managed to complete everything and had me in and out in 35 minutes complete with smog and registration renewal.
This is definitely the "go-to" smog place.

We choose Pro-1 Automotive, you may ask? For many reasons, however, but specifically for this review, we will only talk about the highlights. These guys here CARE and are the best. We have been going to them with all of our cars for the past two years. Pro-1 Automotive team is consistent with reaching out via email to see how things are going or just to let us know it's time to have our vehicles looked at, which is great, cause we are millennials and always need to be reminded to do our adulting.

Previously to coming to Pro-1 Automotive I had been taking my truck and previous cars to another shop. However, due to a bad experience I decided to look elsewhere to take my truck. This shop is close to my work so I figured I would bring my truck in to service an issue I was having with my front suspension.
I spoke with Paul on the phone and met him at the shop. First off, extremely kind and that made me feel comfortable bringing my truck in. I was able to bring my truck in first thing in the morning and they gave me a ride to work! Only took a few minutes to hand my keys over and I really appreciated

I bought new tires here last November. The price, quality, and service were all excellent! Unfortunately, one of my new tires blew yesterday. I took the car in hoping for a warranty repair. Turned out there was sidewall damage not covered under the warranty. Paul, the service manager, went over and above to replace my tire at NO CHARGE!!! My car developed an oil leak. I knew it was an oil leak, I could see a little smoke and I could smell it. I took it in and asked them to find the leak. This is what I got back, needs to be cleaned to find the point of the leaks. Thank you Captain Obvious. $134.81 later, still have a leak and no where closer to finding the source.

I took my 1997 Dodge diesel truck to these guys to get it smogged. I had done some performance modifications to this truck, and was fully aware I had removed the factory EGR. Knowing this, I called them ahead of time to ensure I was not heading into a test I would surely fail without this part. I gave a gentleman who heads up their diesel smog department, Elvis, my VIN. He ensured me I DID need a catalytic converter, which my truck did indeed have fitted at the time of the test, but DID NOT need the EGR due to my truck's vintage.

Yes they are a 5 star shop but be forewarned, they are busy! I always take that as a good sign, if they werent good no one would want to go to them. But because they are such a good shop they have a wait list on just looking at your car. Its worth the wait.
So to the actual review. My wife and I both have diesel vehicles. We bounced around a few shops and never really found a place we felt confident in. We happened on Pro1 based on a suggestion/recommendation from a family member, and we couldnt be happier.
They have taken care of my Excursion that had been sitting for about 10 months.

Part 1. My mom who is a senior citizen needed a complete tune-up. She called around was quoted between $400 and $600. Pro-1 was one of the $400 range quotes and said they hoped they could get to it before she left for Southern California. They got the car done the next day. They had all of the parts they replaced available for her inspection and discussed it with her in human language (not mechanic speak). Sounds reasonable right? Well the total came in at $360.00. Honest and reasonable is rare in this business and amazing when you can find it.

We've been getting our car Smog Checked here for years. They also do repairs but I haven't actually needed anything but smog checks.
This is a facility that provides the opportunity to pay your registration fees at the same time you get your smog check. Smog for Gas is $19. They charge a small service fee of $10 to pay my registration fee also. But it is so handy, it's one of my guilty pleasures! They ALSO SMOG DIESEL!
There wasn't a wait today on a Monday at 10:45 am.
The waiting room today is well stocked! It inspired me to add pictures so people will know how PLEASANT
