The Solar PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) is the most popular method of going solar. There is no out of pocket expense for equipment or labor. The solar company pays for 100% of the installation costs, and maintains, insures, and monitors your system for up to 25 years. You simply pay a low discounted fixed rate for your electricity and save from day one.
Here's what most people don't realize. In the summer the roof can heat up to 140-150 degrees or more. It can literally be over 50 degrees hotter than the temperature outside if a building has a standard roof. That heats up the wood sheeting and radiates down through the attic heating up the 2x4's, insulation, and finally radiating through the drywall ceiling and ultimately into the living space.

Installation for a Generac whole home generator is complete. The process went smoothly. As is always the case, the city permit process is what is the most time consuming. But Modernize Power kept me apprised of each step of installation. And when the permits were approved, the installation was done quickly. The crews were professional. They were friendly and conscientious and answered all of my questions. The office staff was very responsive and walked me through the process from the first day I signed the agreement for installation to the last day where I was given training on the use and maintenance

We had initially started a solar project with PetersenDean, but they went bankrupt before they could installed our system. Earlier, we had had our Generac generator serviced by Brandon at Modernize, back when PG&E was first shutting off power due to fire danger. So we contacted Modernize about picking up our solar project. Modernize made several recommendations, revised the plan, and installed the system in a very timely manner. The system has been running for a month and a half, producing about a megawatt-hour a month now, on target with what we had hoped for. Great response, very professional

Modernize Power installed a 22KW Generac whole house backup generator and a 14.8KW Panasonic ground mounted solar array with Solaredge inverters and optimizers. Although the most expensive by far for the generator, I was satisfied that Modernize was taking care of the system from soup to nuts including all the propane work. The install team was professional and courteous. The quality of the workmanship was superior in every way -- to the extent that the inspectors commented on it as well (I'm an electrical engineer, but not an electrician). My disappointment, hence the 4 out of 5 was the solar
