Two English Bulldogs ("The Girls") have 'worked' for us at our shop and are now retired. Many of our customers know KoKo and KaLi and still ask after them. The Girls enjoyed their "15 minutes of fame" by appearing for a year in the local telephone book yellow pages in our company ad. We are not sure for the reason of their retirement but surmised it had something to do with non-payment for their yellow pages appearance.
The Bellinger name has been synonymous with the auto service and repair business in Salem for over 60 years. Tom and Lynn Bellinger are the present owners at the 14th and State Street location. It takes a team to make a shop successful, and we have the best in Salem! You can count on any of these guys to take concerned and expert care of your vehicle and to explain the whys of a suggested service or repair.
What sets us apart from other auto centers is that we specialize in Volvo and Subaru service and repair. To our knowledge, we are the only shop in Salem and surrounding areas that has Volvo's specialized diagnostic equipment in-house. We are able to repair Volvo's locally as opposed to the owners traveling to Corvallis or Portland's Volvo dealers.

I took my car to Bellinger because I saw their reviews and they were one of the few people in Salem who work on Volvos. Within days of them diagnosing my car with two minor problems my car completely broke down and was unable to start. When I called to resolve the issue with them they would not take responsibility and were rude. I went to a different mechanic and they resolved the issue entirely. Bellinger's completely missed the problem and refused to take responsibility for the unprofessionalism and poor work. Too expensive for horrible service and no help. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, If you are not taking your car here you are crazy. Not your average tire store. Mechanical repair also. Small shop but amazing people and service. I took my car there for the first time on a recommendation from a friend. Something the dealer would have charged $400.00+ for and overstated what was needed, Bellinger fixed for less than $70. Honest, fair and reasonable.

Trust this place. Had issues with my Honda Accord, 2007. Things didn't 'feel' right. Had to replace my battery twice in as many years. Turns out they fully charged the battery and gave a tune-up. My car runs so well, I hadn't noticed other issues. Picked up my car the next day... the car drove 'like new' again. I am so pleased. My neighbor referred me. He was right! Staff were pleasant.

Bellinger Tire has taken care of me and my XC90 and X1. They do a great job of keeping on top of the required maintenance and providing me with upcoming concerns. If I have questions, they take time to answer and explain, which I greatly appreciate! I also order my tires through Bellinger and they have the same customer service as Les Schwann. It’s wonderful having a locally owned, honest company to take my car to.

Have been taking my vehicles to Bellingers since the early 70's. Hugh and Allan Bellinger were the original owners. Tom, one of the son's is owner now, and he has Mike, Manager, and Casey working on the cars. These two are excellent and honest mechanics. Will not trust anyone else with my car!! I would highly recommend Bellingers to all of you needing car repair.

I took my Volvo in for servicing when I thought there was a problem with my power steering unit. I was told that there was nothing wrong with the unit as the noise I was hearing was not a problem. I appreciated the fact that they did not "make up" an issue, and were honest with me. There was no charge for that service. I will continue to have my car serviced at Bellinger Tires.

Mike at Bellinger's Tire was so helpful in getting my vehicle taken care of in an incredibly fast manner. Not only was he friendly and fast at completing the needed work, but he 100% handled the claim submitted to the warranty company and was sure to get the service covered by the warranty with manufacturer parts. We will certainly be returning customers!

I was referred to Bellinger by an associate. My vehicle didn't sound right, almost sounded like a diesel. Stopped by, Casey quickly diagnosed the vehicle as needing a new water pump. They are a small busy shop, couldn't get to my vehicle for three days. Got the estimate via email shortly after my initial visit. I called two other shops, one was about the same amount, the service department at the dealership was about $300 more.
Easy to drop off before they opened. Michael the mechanic who replaced the water pump called to let me know the vehicle was ready. The total bill came in ~$40

First time in Casey cleared some trouble codes for me free of charge. Boom - customer for life right there. The dealerships will charge you $100 to clear a Check Engine Light when the only problem is a loose gas cap. These guys at Bellinger are one in a million. When we moved to Salem from Portland we were afraid we would be driving back to Portland to have our 2004 Volvo V70 serviced. Boy were we wrong. Great first experience here this week... I prefer to patronize locally owned shops whenever practical. More of my money stays in and supports my community that way. The assessment of my tires was fair and straightforward which lead me getting a new set. Casey asked me about my needs and what i wanted out of the tires and gave me three well thought out options. He was able to answer questions about the pros and cons of each. They were able to order the tires that day and perform the work the next (tires/alignment/and oil change). Prices were very reasonable. Casey was always friendly and never pushy

4 star review because..... I've only had service here once and it was good enough to return. I imagine if the service is anything like last time, I'll be very happy and then we'll bump it up to a 5 star.
Today's service- I brought my car in a week ago and had them look at the rattle in the front end and there was some issues with my shifter. The told me the issue could be my struts and that they lubed up the shifter cable. Charge...nothing. Most places you take a car to, they charge you $80-100 just for pulling it into the garage.
