The roots of our company lie in the small town of Livingston, Tn. Nestled in the hills of Overton County, Livingston is the hometown of our founder, Bob West. It was here that R. E. West Transportation was founded by and named for his father in 1944; incorporation would follow in 1979. Bob joined the family business at the age of 16 when he purchased his first truck.

This is one of the best companies that i have been employed at. You are not just an employee number. All of management does their best to take care of the company and their employees. Sure no company is perfect but there isn’t any company that is. I really appreciate the opportunity this company has given me. I have worked in many different industries from factories to social work. I can say this is one of the better employer’s that actually take care of their employees.

One of their drivers tried to block me from getting around him on the interstate, when I finally was able to he tried to run me off the road when I was more than 3/4’s around him. When I called their “Safety Department” the woman I spoke with was unconcerned. Both their drivers and safety personnel are very unprofessional and drivers are rude dangerous on the roadways.

I received my training thru R E West and was treated like family from the very start.
The training on the yard was great you had nothing but time to practice, practice, practice.
The training groups were kept small and Duaine was nothing but helpful.
I did my three weeks on the road with my trainer and he was instrumental in helping me with my setups for different docking situations. I highly recommend R E West to anyone looking to get into the trucking industry. You are really treated like family.

I was asked to send my taxes from previous 3yrs to rudy..... sounds fishy right off the back. Was told not to tell anyone about our conversation(rudy). Once I brought it up to caitlin she never responded or would answer my calls. They stated it was auditing reasons, but we all know employers wouldn't ask for your taxes. Now I'm being harassed for sharing the truth about there fraud ways and asking what there doing with people's taxes since it does have sensitive information. I would reccomend not applying for this company!!!!!! Stay far away from them if possible.

They took 1 month to approve my husband’s application and they send him home after 2 days of joining because of discrimination. My husband have his permit , he join the company to start his Truck driver carrier. The trainer talk to rude to my husband on the second day after join the company when my husband says why you talking so rude to me then he didn’t say anything but he told to the HR that my husband is not doing good in training. The HR lady told my husband you are too slow so you can go home. This doesn’t make a sense whoever learns drive a truck in two day’s?

Trained here over 9 years ago by Mike Brown. Between him, the owner, and the amazing staff this place employed, I received top notch training in the trucking industry. R.E. West is a great place to get your training. I recently got my CDL through them. Jerry will teach the right way. The whole staff there is awesome. I had some family issues which popped up during my training and let me go home to attend to it and come back and complete my training, Unfortunately those family problems forced me to put my trucking exploits on hold. I had to back out of going out on the road with my trainer at the last minute. It was a painful decision cause they really worked with me and were pulling for me to pass and become part of their team. Hopefully I'll be able to work

In the short time I spent in the training program I found Amy & Kris to be extremely professional, knowledgeable, kind, & top notch instructors. The owner BOB WEST is an incredible man, he is old school which I found very refreshing so if honesty, hard work, or straight shooters isn't your thing I'd have to say keep walking lol, if it is you'll be very happy at R E WEST TRANSPORTATION.
