Sacramento Insight Meditation
Dana is a Buddhist word that means generosity or heart. Nearly all Sacramento Insight Meditation activities are offered on a dana (donations) basis. This means our programs are sustained by the generosity of instructors in offering teachings freely and on the generosity of students and members of the meditative community in the form of financial support, service and participation in events.

Practice dana, please support our Sangha.
Services
SIM's vision for all its activities is based on providing a welcoming environment where everyone can feel safe. This is the foundation for our meeting, studying and practicing together which leads to meditative friendships and community. The basis of such an environment is conscious and ethical conduct and relationships.
Regular periods of sustained meditation practice are an important element in cultivating and deepening meditative skill and maturity. SIM's monthly one-day retreats are an opportunity to step out of the stress and demands of our daily life, restore the body and the mind, and develop our meditation practice.
SIM's Insight Mediation sitting group is designed to provide a safe and friendly environment where we can meet, develop our meditation skills and knowledge, practice together, and develop friendships. The usual format includes a silent or guided meditation period, a question and answer period on meditation practice issues, and a talk and discussion.
Sacramento Insight Meditation teacher Diane Wilde has volunteered to sponsor a group for young people who are interested in learning more about addressing life's challenges through insight meditation. Topics are relevant to the concerns younger sangha members face. Please come and join the young person's group studying mindfulness and meditation, facilitated by Idris Ahmed.
Individual Meditation & Daily Life Practice Mentoring Sessions with SIM Community Mentors. Whether beginners or advanced, many practitioners find that an ongoing personal relationship with a mentor is important to maintain inspiration and guidance for one's meditation practice. Mentoring can help you to navigate the personal/interpersonal issues involved in bringing the practices of mindfulness and compassion more fully into your life.
