In 1994 North Star Mattress opened its doors. We built high quality mattresses and box springs right here in our factory and sold from our showroom on location. For years we enjoyed great success. In July of 2007 a new national flammability standard was in place. It is called 16 cfr 1633. What this called for was the accountability of the flame protection in all mattresses and foundations.
North Star Mattress offers a one time only, 30 Day Comfort Exchange guarantee, only with the purchase of our water resistant mattress protector. This allows you to exchange your mattress within 30 days of purchasing, to a more suitable mattress for your comfort needs. Please note there is a 10% restocking fee charged at the time of the exchange, as well as, a pick up charge if needed.

After years of buying at the Slumberland/HOM type stores, it's so refreshing to buy a mattress from someone who (1) actually understands how mattresses are made - structure, materials, etc, and (2) won't push you into anything. We bought a mattress from North Star a year ago and were delighted with the service and with the product. We'll be back.

My wife and I shopped around. We ended up getting our mattress from these guys. By far they had the most comfortable beds we tested. What really sealed the deal was the friendly staff, reasonable prices and the fact that it is all made here in Minnesota. We have had our mattress for over a month now. Every night I lay down I am happy we went with this place.

So a couple months ago my wife and I decided it was time to rid ourselves of my "single-guy" mattress. I'd had it for 10 years and aside from having it throughout the duration of my dating years, my former cat had decided to turn it into a litter box at one point.
