M y name is Miya Kay Carew. I am a true California Girl and lover of the "simple life". Finding beauty, appreciation and gratitude in every situation is my personal mantra. Life is pretty good: I have the most incredible boyfriend, dog & cat, home, and career. On any "day off" you can find me hiking the hills with my dog, soaking up the sun & practicing yoga.
Day-Of-Coordination is designed for couples that have established the foundation of planning, but need a wee bit of guidance on the day-of. We happily take care of communication with vendors, coordinates day-of details, and creates a timeline for your special day. Partial Planning is for the couple that desires to plan elements of their wedding, but feel more comfortable with vendor relations and detailed assistance led by a true pro!
I can't possibly begin to describe how incredible it was working with Miya Carew. But I'll try. Warning: there's a lot of positive adjectives and metaphors coming.
From start to finish, throughout the entire crazy, ridiculous process of building a wedding basically from scratch, Miya was our guiding light, our North Star leading us to the Promised Land, our guardian angel who shepherded our Big Day from a once-jumbled mess of random ideas, propositions, and off-kilter expectations into the most beautiful, jaw-dropping well-oiled machine a wedding could possibly be.

Where do I even start?! Both Miya and Lexi were beyond amazing. My wedding was on 11/12/21 in San Juan Capistrano at the Swanner House. Lexi was my day of coordinator and point of contact for most of my wedding planning. She was beyond amazing, detailed, and calming. Lexi was very organized, attentive, easy to reach, and continually positive while bring lots of energy. Not only did she make sure the day of was excellent, she also had great suggestions, and assistance along the way. Hiring Miya for our wedding was the best decision we made! She was recommended to us by a friend and after one phone call with her we knew she was going to be amazing. She seriously knows her stuff and she is so genuinely kind. We had an outdoor ceremony and reception, so the venue provided tables, chairs, and linens but it was up to us to rent our own lighting, dance floor, kitchen tent, and a few other things. If we were planning our wedding on our own we wouldn't have even known where to start, but Miya took over all the rentals for us. She also drew up the diagram for the reception space

I didn't know I wanted or needed a wedding coordinator until it was a requirement of our wedding venue but I could not be more grateful that I found Miya to fill that role. From the beginning she made her goal to bring my vision for my wedding come to life. Hiring Miya as our wedding day-of coordinator is literally the best decision we made in the wedding planning process. From the early email exchanges and our first meeting months before the wedding, I knew I could trust her and simply follow her lead. My family chose Miya to plan my daughter's wedding. It takes a special person to not only be extremely detailed but be able to keep an event with many people under control. Many detail-oriented, task-driven and organized people can be bossy or difficult.
