I was looking for a place to special order an ice cream cake for my daughters birthday because she wanted chocolate on chocolate(no vanilla). Anyway, and a couple of people recommended Emack &Bolio's so, I figured I would give them a try. Ice cream is positively outstanding. Live music outdoors seals the deal. I don't even mind that every time we walk in my 4 year old wants a new toy. Lol They lost a star, however, for inconsistency. We had 2 single scoop dishes in our group and one looked 1/2 full. When brought to their attention the response was "well it was scooped by different people. What do you want me to do?" I said make them equal, simple. It's not rocket science, the solution should have been clear and they weren't busy at all. Had it been dealt with sans attitude I don't think I would have

My wife needed ice cream. I used the excuse to get an excellent donut. Chocolate cake, chocolate frosting AND SPRINKLES. I can get very happy with the chocolate glazed donut at Dunkin’ but the donut here is next level and it is not even their focus!!! The ice cream was reported as exactly what was needed. Chocolate dipped waffle cone would be great by itself. Big gooey chunks of goodness in the salted chocolate brownie ice cream ( I think that’s what it was). We called to find out if they had vegan options, and two were available. We arrived about 20 minutes later, and they were already out of one option we wanted. We don't usually like chocolate, but we tried it, and it was tasty. I got two scoops (I should have got one) on a cone, and they were huge portions which was delightful. We also got one with lemon sorbet in a cup. The chocolate was great at first but became way too rich. The sorbet saved the one in the cup by offsetting the rich flavor of the chocolate. The best ice cream in Albany by far!! My favorite thing to get is their oreochino it's Oreo ice cream with espresso and it is exactly what you're looking for in a Starbucks drink but on steroids, their banana splits are also so amazing and all their cones are perfectly coated. It has taken me so long to find an ice cream shop that's worth it but this one definitely is!

Ice cream from Emacks is a summer staple! With unique creamy ice cream flavors and vastly decorated and dipped cones, you can build awesome ice cream cones on a hot summer day or even during the winter with snow on the ground. This is my favorite ice cream place ever! I've had this in the city and this location is definitely better. This location had very good service and they follow all the Covid precautions. There were so many flavors, I ended up getting the brownie one with the fruit loop cone. Serving size is large, 1 scoop is enough. The ice cream was the perfect and not too sweet like most ice cream shops. I would recommend this to anyone craving sweets!

Confidently can say THE BEST CAKES IN TOWWWWWNNNNN!!!!! Omg I came to this place two days in a row for the Tuxedo cake and the Tiramisu cake my oh my was I in heaven The cake was actually dense with thick layers of creme and chocolate mousse topped with even more chocolate! Like it seriously can't get any better than that! They serve a few hot drinks too (hot chocolate, latte, etc). They have outdoor seating in a cute garden-like area and the best thing is that they are open till 10pm!!!!!

Yum! I don't know why I forgot Albany had an E&B's and kept hunting for a good ice cream place in the area. This is a chain with multiple locations including in NYC and Boston. The ice cream quality is top notch, I always go for the grasshopper pie and it never fails me. It's also super cute inside with toys, gifts, cakes, and chocolates. There is an area with seating inside and outdoor seating as well. They are taking precautions for COVID and it's a really cheerful place to go get your ice cream fix. I no longer live in the neighborhood but this is a GEM. The ice cream is not too sweet and true to its flavor. None of that artificial flavoring business. I always end up getting the strawberry because it's just so good, with big chunks of strawberry. Grasshopper is good as well! The husband is a big fan of the vegan mango and coconut. The dipped cones are fun to try but they're HUGE. I've had the cocoa crisp, cinnamon crunch and chocolate+walnut combo. All are good but come hungry! Not a darn thing wrong with this place. Wow! Went to the one in NYC about 100 years ago and wasn't impressed. This is a much better setting, and not sure what the Hudson river connection is.
This is an ice cream shop for all ages. I want to look at all the candy, toys, gifts and ICE CREAM. who doesn't want to look, touch and eat everything in here. Love the loaded flavors such as peanut butter Oreo, grasshopper pie and on and on. I'm very interested to see if the coffee products are as good. Will be back!

Please do yourself a favor and check out Emack and Bolio's. The ice cream is very, very delicious. My parents really liked the vanilla, but everyone we tasted was very delicious. Love their ginormous-sized cones! A bit too much (very sweet with all the marshmallow in order to bind the cereal/topping to the cone), but it certainly made for a fun treat-yoself treat and photo. My parents and I got a total of 5 scoops, 2 specialty cones and 1 waffle cone, and it came out to $21... so not inexpensive. Def worth it at least once though:)
