Lake State Recycling Inc was founded by Chris Baumgardt and Harley Hanson in 2010 in Nowthen, Minnesota. They started primarily recycling commercial electronic scrap and non-ferrous metals. Lake State Recycling has now moved their operations to a new Elk River, Minnesota facility providing a larger, more convenient space to service customer needs.

Great place to bring any scrap metal; they pay top dollar for your steel, aluminum, brass and copper.
Earlier is better than later in the day,so you won't have to wait in line.
Great group of guys working there. Courteous and very helpful in getting you set up with dumpsters for the various types of metals.

Great place. The people working here are super friendly. You bring your scrap metal in and get paid for it in cash. I had an old riding lawnmower and they picked it off my trailer with a fork lift and paid me scrap pricing. They take all sorts of metals and recyclable items. I called to clarify a few items and the person I talked to on the phone was super helpful. highly recommended.

I bought a ton of equipment from the director Richard busby. Paid in full august 8th via wire transfer the equipment promised was broken and damaged and out of 50 units 11 were doa. The other were half were missing ram and hdds. Waited another almost month after and out of 50 Macbooks I ordered only 36 came 3 were doa was promised going on 6 months that they would make it right. Nothing but bs comes out of his mouth. He is a fraudulent and pulls bate and switch. In the process of getting a attorney to handle this mater. Would never do business with again

Great place with knowlegeable staff and excellent customer service.. Harley, Chris and Danyon are your e-waste and recycling stewards! They are very professional and will accept anything from pop cans to old computers to cars you dont want anymore. If you have alot of old junk and various metals laying around your garage, and you wanna make a quick few bucks off of it, bring it on in and they'll take care of the rest!
